WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EXPLORE... IN LONDON?
HELLO!
WELCOME TO WALKS IN LONDON!

At WALKS IN LONDON we cover virtually the WHOLE city of London or, as it is officially known, GREATER LONDON.

So... you chose which area or areas you want to see, explore and discover during your stay with us!

However, we have put together different quarters or areas, because they are close by, or because they belong to the same borough or simply because
they are very well communicated, comforming in that way what we call ALL DAY TOURS.
What follows is the LIST of those DAY TOURS. In CAPITAL LETTERS you can see the actual areas we can visit on that day.

This list or catalogue IS NOT comprehensive. There are many other places to see in London
and I will be happy to take you there. Just...let me know what you want to discover!

1.~ THE CITIES OF LONDON AND WESTMINSTER: POWER, MONEY AND POLITICS.

In this ALL DAY TOUR we explore the areas of WESTMINSTER (HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT, ABBEY, WHITEHALL)
followed by the CITY OF LONDON (around ST.PAUL'S CATHEDRAL and araund the TOWER and the OLD DOCKS).
Most of the sights are the most "classical" monuments of London, but we don't forget some "unknown" places..."secret" places...

2.~ PANORAMA OF THE WEST END.

Again more "classics". Walking all day around SOHO, COVENT GARDEN, ST.JAMES'S, MAYFAIR, BLOOMSNURY and MARYLEBONE. Theatres, vice, gentlemen's clubs, pubs...
Very well known areas, indeed... well, they think they know...

3.~ KENSINGTON & CHELSEA:   "CHIC" LONDON.

This is a bit different! There aren't so many "classics" in this area... a bit "off the beaten track"!. KENSINGTON, CHELSEA, NOTTING HILL, SOUTH KENSINGTON... Lovely Georgian and Victorin houses  and squares and street markets and hidden pubs...always pubs, on these walks!
And this can be an ALL DAY WALKING, from the river to the canal!

4.~ ISLINGTON AND CLERKENWELL: THE LONDON NOBODY KNOWS.
That's true, no tourists around!. You are the first ones...
Anyway... there is lots of history to discover in the area, and many little corners unknown to the very locals.
On Saturday, a very lively antiques market in ISLINGTON... A "human-made" river, old cinemas and music-halls, the canal, the Charterhouse, the old territory of the Hospitallers... and we are on the fringes of de ol CITY OF LONDON... Suggesting, isn't it?

5.~ ARISTOCRATIC LONDON: RICHMOND AND THE WEST.

What about going outside London without leaving London... like being in the countryside but still in the middle of the big metropolis... How we can understand this?

Come to RICHMOND (and its enormous ROYAL PARK!), TWICKENHAM, HAMPTON COURT, CHISWICK, SYON PARK and HOUSE, ISLEWORTH, ... and discover "how"!. The Thames is always with us and the pubs (AGAIN!) along the river, as the views, are delightful!
And,again!... no tourists around!

6.~ UP IN THE HILLS: HAMPSTEAD AND HIGHGATE (AND CAMDEN TOWN IS IN OUR WAY)

The countryside in London but this time at a certain height... Good views, then!
Lovely villages, yes "villages"!, inside London... The Heath, Kenwood House, the Spaniards Inn... are some of the local atractions.

7.~ SUNDAY MARKETS IN THE EAST END AND GREENWICH.

And why not have a curry?
In SPITALFIEDS (in Brick Lane) are served the best ones in London...
Then, an afternoon in GREENWICH, another of London's villages, with lovely views of the river... beautiful pubs (not again!) along... the Thames!
An markets all day: bric-a-brac, flowers, food, clothes... you name it! (but, bring your credit card with you!)
