Charles Rockett (semiregular)........Victor Beaudine
The "Murphy" of the title is George Segal, who plays
an insurance
investigator and recovering alcoholic in this mystery-adventure
series.
Not only he has to cope with unusual cases, but also with a
hostile
ex-wife, a gorgeous roommate Kimi (Maggie Han) and Wes, a
perpetually
nervous supervisor (Josh Mostel). Though crimes and culprits are
a big
part of the formula here, so is the relationship between Segal
and Han,
once romantic but now platonic – with obviously options for
reversal.
