August 2000 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
Black Jade Breeder: Frank A. Benardella Introduced: 1985 Parentage: Sheri Anne x Laguna Class: Miniature Rose Color: Deep red Scent: Mild Size: 1.5 to 2 feet Zone: Hardy |
Black Jade is my daughter's pick for the patio garden. She loves red roses, and Black Jade is REALLY red! The dusky petals have the look of burgandy velvet. Surprisingly, this rose does well in, and actually prefers, a partial shade site in the garden. Not too shady, mind you! Roses still need 6 hours of sun to yield that spectacular bloom. This rose is highly favored among miniature rose growers across the country. |
