My husband and I saw "Freckles" on a trip to Great Lakes Roses in Belleville, Michigan. This impressive pink rose was growing in the greenhouse along with oodles of other beautiful shrubs and climbers. The form and coloration of this particular rose stood out from all the others. The roses were huge-- opulent, hybrid tea-style blossoms of a uniform pink tint that was simply dazzling. I knew the Buck rose reputation for hardiness and good disease resistance, so I didn't hesitate to purchase a one-year-old plant. Now it is planted next to Country Dancer in the patio garden. The two roses compliment each other well. |
