Iceberg

"Come now and let us reason together," says the Lord.  "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

Isaiah 1:18 NIV

So white are its blossoms, that "Snow White" would have been a great name for Iceberg.  If you need a splash of white-- roses don't get much whiter!  This outstanding rose is proclaimed to be the best rose ever introduced.  Now that I have four in my garden I can understand why.  If you're looking for lots of flowers, Iceberg will not disappoint.  When other roses are taking a mid-summer break, this rose is still working hard to bring grace and beauty to the landscape.
I love the way Iceberg holds its blossoms in delicate sprays all over the shrub.  The roses are exquisitely shaped, and eventually scroll open into softly ruffled discs with dark stamens.  Growth is even and pleasing to the eye.  In just a few months one of my Iceberg roses went from 2x2 to 4x4.  Disease resistance is good too, although Iceberg can get blackspot.
My recommendation to anyone just starting with roses would be to try Iceberg first.  With this excellent rose one could hardly go wrong!
