This is a fabulous rose!  It makes a large spreading shrub covered with small, dark green foliage.  Individual blossoms measure 3/4" across and are cherry red with a white eye.  They are born gracefully in large clusters reminiscent of wisteria blossoms.  While fragrance is not a feature of this rose, reliability makes up for that lack.  Tolerant of poor soil, weather extremes, and partial shade, Robin Hood hangs in there for the long haul.  Lovely draped across a fence or as a specimen in the landcape.  I cannot, as yet, comment on cane hardiness in zone 5, but this rose should survive at the base if buried 5 to 6 inches deep and given a protected spot in the garden.  Robin Hood is easily propogated from cuttings.
