Rosarium Uetersen

Breeder:  Kordes

Parentage:  Karlsruhe x Seedling

Introduced:  1977

Class:  Climber, shrub

Color:  Coral Pink

Scent:  Strong

Size:  6 to 10 feet high x 6 feet wide

Zone:  4 and higher

Word is that it would be a shame for this rose not to become popular in the USA just because it has an unusual name.  Let's hope Rosarium Uetersen doesn't succumb to that fate.  For northern gardeners, it fulfills the dream of a rock hardy climber that has double blooms and smells wonderful too!  I'm hoping disease resistance will be good also.
The coral pink blossoms are clustered on canes that sport the dark, glossy foliage.  This climber blooms reliably all season.  Individual roses hold a multitude of petals (142 to be exact!) enriched with a strong scent.  A very romantic rose that is also iron-clad.
