Royal Blush

"If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right.  But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.  For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.  For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder."  If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.  Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.  Mercy triumphs over judgment!  What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?  Can such faith save him?"

James 2:8-14  NIV

Special thanks to Heirloom Old Garden Roses
for the use of their beautiful photo of "Royal Blush."

Royal Blush is a hybrid alba with large, fully double roses and wonderful fragrance.  The pale pink blossoms are prettily quartered.  Vigorous and winter hardy, this once-blooming rose forms a tall shrub that grows upright and then arches, showing off its blossoms in a fountain-like display.  Bloom lasts six weeks or longer.  A nice addition to the alba class and our garden!

"Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel.  Your hair is like
royal tapestry; the king is held captive by its tresses."

A Day in the Sun

The serene philosophy of the pink rose is steadying.  Its fragrant, delicate petals open fully and are ready to fall, without regret or disillusion , after only a day in the sun.  It is so every summer.  One can almost hear their pink, fragrant murmer as they settle down upon the grass:  "Summer, summer, it will always be summer."
