Sharifa Asma

"Sharifa Asma"
June 2000

There are so many words I could use to describe Sharifa Asma-- "delicate," "soft," "dependable," "dreamy," but the best word and the one that describes its most admirable trait is "floriferous."  This rose pumps out blossoms one after the other!  There can't be more than 3 or 4 weeks between major flushes.  Over the course of a summer that's a lot of roses.
I guess another word comes to my mind when I think of this pretty rose-- "surprise!"  The first bloom was a surprise because the shrub was supposed to be Fair Bianca.  Yes, if you've read my page on The Prince, another English Rose, you'll discover that rose was also supposed to be Fair Bianca.  Would you believe it took three tries before I finally got Fair Bianca?  I don't know what happened, but the mail-order nursery kept sending me the wrong rose.  Well, I'm not complaining at all because I love The Prince and Sharifa Asma.  Each rose was a happy mistake.
This English Rose will charm you, give you lots of roses, and become a real asset in your garden.  Here's another word for you-- "buy!"
