GALLARDO 08/30/2005
Jose 'Joe' Gallardo, was born on July 23, 1914, heard
his name called by our heavenly Father on August 28, 2005, at the age of 91. He
is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hortense M. Gallardo; son, Jose R.
Gallardo; daughter, Rocxsandra Gallardo; two grandchildren, Joey Gallardo and
Leticia Cameron; one great-granddaughter, Reyna Alejandra Cameron; and numerous
nieces and nephews. Mr. Gallardo served his country in the Army during WWII and
in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a proud veteran and a member of
the VFW Post #4700. After serving his country, he worked at Kelly AFB as an
aircraft mechanic where he retired after a 30-year career. Family and friends
will remember Joe as a very gracious, polite and extremely hospitable man, and
will greatly miss him. The Gallardo family wishes to thank and praise our
heavenly Father for giving his servant, Joe, a good, long life here on earth.
The family also wishes to express their deepest and sincerest thanks to the
staff and caregivers at Arden Courts for the love, compassion and care given to
our loved one. Many thanks also to the nurses from Heartland Hospice.
SERVICES A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 from 6 9 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapel North, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, with burial following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
