We were so sorry to hear of Pepe's passing this week. You know how special he was and always will be to our family. He was a fine man and it will always be our pleasure that we knew him while growing up in the old neigborhood and through our adult years. Dear Hortense and family. My condolences for your loss of "Pepe." I have very fond memories of him because he was always kind to me, and made me very comfortable when we met. After coming from New England in 1958, people like your husband, Frank (Pancho) and others made my transition to the Mexican culture very easy and enjoyable. I can't ever remember him not having a smile, even the one time I saw him when he was sick.

I know I lost contact with most of you since Yuca died and I remarried; however, I haven't lost the fond memories of times past. May God's fondest blessings be with Pepe, and also your entire family through this trying time.
