On the occasion of the significant February holiday Internet websites and mass media in south Korea carried the write-ups admiring leader Kim Jong Il as the prominent thinker and theoretician of the 21^st century and the sun of Songun and intensively introduced the festive mood of north Korea which celebrated the February 16 as the greatest auspicious national holiday.

The South-side Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification and the Solidarity for Progress posed on February 14, the article titled “Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, is the successor to the independence cause of President Kim Il Sung”. They stressed that Kim Jong Il, just identical to President Kim Il Sung, enjoys the praise as the great leader of the working class and the true leader of the independent peoples of the world.

They highly praised him as the thinker and theoretician, statesman and general of the 21^st century who is a symbol of dread and fear, appalling incarnation of anti-imperialist independence to the imperialists, and commands ardent support and acclamation from the independent humankind of the world.

The South Korean Committee for the Study of the Songun Politics issued in six installments the “Special Edition on the Songun Politics” under the subtitles “1. What is the Songun politics?”, “2. The background of the emergence of the Songun politics and the Songun idea”, “3. The root of the Songun politics”, “4. Songun is based on the new understanding of the main force of the revolution and construction”, “5. The reason why the revolutionary army becomes the main force of revolution” and “6. The correlations between the Songun idea, Songun politics and the Juche idea”.

It also carried the book “General Kim Jong Il, the sun of Songun” (Volume 3) in three installments as a special February 16 article.

And the bulletin boards of the Internet homepages of the Solidarity for Realizing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration, the National Alliance for Democracy and Reunification, the National Federation of Peasants Associations, “Jajuminbo”, the Solidarity for Progress in South Korea, the Southside Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country’s Reunification, carried special articles on the greatness of leader Kim Jong Il published by thhe Seoul Citizens’ Committee for the Study of General Kim Jong Il in 8 installments.

And from February 13 to 16 the mass media including “Tong-il News”, “Yeonhap News” and the “Voice of People” introduced in detail under the titles such as “North Korea, Pyongyang seething before the February holiday” various functions like the February 16 celebration rally to vow held at the secret camp on Mt Baekdu, the national meeting to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of naming of Kimjongilia, the 12^th Kimjongilia Festival, the 17^th International Figure Festival of Baekdusan Prize, the 2^nd National Sketch-drawing Festival and the Film Show Period for celebrating the February holiday.

They also carried the accounts of the north Korean working class who was striving to add brilliance to the February holiday with more achievements in production.

The hearts of the south Korean people who are holding in high esteem and following leader Kim Jong Il, who is glorifying the dignity and honor of the nation and wisely leading the independent reunification movement to victory, as the sun of the nation and the lodestar of reunification, grow more ardent as the days go by.
