South Korean People Ardently Adoring President Kim Il Sung

The adoration of the south Korean people for President Kim Il Sung, the father of the nation, is getting more ardent as the days go by.

The more they look back upon the great revolutionary career of President Kim Il Sung who devoted his life for the sake of freedom and happiness of the people and the national reunification, the more sublime emotions they hardly suppress, and reverentially extend greetings to him looking up to his smiling image.

Since the very day of the country’s division by the outside forces till the last moments of his life the fatherly President never forgot the south Korean people even for a moment and dedicated all his soul and life for the glorious day when all the fellow countrymen live on a reunified land in harmony and happiness.

The south Korean people don’t forget the unfathomable love and gracious benevolence of the President who thought more of them and affectionately cared of them with the parental feelings that pine for the far-off children more than nearby children.

Fascinated by the great exploits the President performed on behalf of the fatherland and the nation, his great virtues and ineffable loving care, the south Korean people looked up to him as the sun and savior of the nation, lodestar of the national reunification, and entrusted their destiny and the nation’s future entirely to him.

We adore him forever as the sun and the father …

As expressed in the phrases of the paean of sun that reverberated in the southern sky of auspicious April, holding in high esteem the great President as the eternal sun of the nation is the south Korean people's unshakable faith and volition.

Today the patriotic people in south Korea are full of the confidence of certain victory in the cause of the national reunification, the cherished desire of the nation, as far as there are the three charters for the reunification which great President Kim Il Sung provided by great painstaking efforts, and the wise leadership of great Marshal Kim Jong Il who brilliantly carries out the President’s instructions for national reunification.

They are more vigorously waging the struggle for anti-U.S independence and the reunification movement.

True to the Spirit of Kwangju

- On May 17, there took place in Kwangju, south Korea, a struggle of the people from various strata to denounce the anti-nation, anti-people and anti-reunification crimes of traitor Lee Myong-bak on the occasion of the 29^th anniversary of the May 18 Kwangju popular uprising.

The Solidarity for Progress in south Korea, the Kwangju Jeonnam Solidarity for Progress, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the National Federation of Peasants Associations, the Supporters’ Association for the Prisoners of Conscience under the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy and other civic organizations held a rally.

The participants deplored that the carnage committed in Kwangju 29 years ago are now reenacted under the Lee Myong-bak regime, and called for the struggle against the Lee regime by the concerted efforts of all people.

A resolution read out at the rally held that all the people should turn out in the struggle against the Lee regime, inheriting the fighting spirit of the martyrs who fought the fascist dictatorship in May 1980.

The resolution stressed that the different circles should smash the moves of the conservative ruling forces of distressing people's livelihood, reviving dictatorship and maintaining the national division, and open up a new era of independence, democracy and reunification through their joint struggle.

- On May 17 the May 18 Grand March for Independent Reunification was held under the theme “Inherit the spirit of the Kwangju Uprising! Smash the security-based suppression! Lee Myong-bak regime, step down!”.

The members of different civic organizations including the South Side of Beomminryun, workers, farmers, youth and students, middle and high school pupils, housewives with buggies, netizens and other people attended it.

Those who took part in demos with soaring anger and hatred of the Lee regime upheld posters written as “Down with dictatorship!”, “Let’s smash the security-based suppression!” and “Let’s overthrow the Lee regime!”, and chanted such slogans as “Let’s oust the Lee regime which negates the inter-Korean joint declarations and hamstrings the national reunification!”, “Stop the suppression of Beomminryun, bedeviling the inter-Korean relations”, “Let’s march toward reunification from May”, thus intensified the anti-regime struggle.

- On May 16 some 10,000 workers from different parts of south Korea held a rally in the city of Daejeon to condemn the unfair labor policy of traitor Lee Myong-bak on the occasion of the 29^th anniversary of the Kwangju uprising.

The participants fervently called on all the workers across south Korea not to forget the aspirations of the Kwangju uprisers, win the labor rights and achieve the victory in the struggle against the Lee regime without fail.

The patriotic people from all walks of life in south Korea will further intensify the anti-regime struggle to bring to the stern trial of history the Lee Myong-bak pro-US conservative forces which commit crimes one after another, inheriting the indomitable fighting spirit and the bloody aspirations of the Kwangju uprisiers.
