NM Lee Wang Sheng finished 2nd in the 1990 Asian Junior Championships and is a former National Championships runner up. Since finishing his studies in the States,. he has been working there and has played in a number of strong opens tourneys. |

CM Evans-Quek Suan Shiau, a former National Blitz Champion had represented Singapore at the Commonwealth Championships 1992 (where he met his girlfriend now wife Debbie Evans) and Manila Olympiad 1992. He has recently made a comeback with his joint 2nd placing in the Welsh Championships 2000. |

Steven Tan Chor Chuan started competitive chess in his late teens but did well enough to win the Cairnhill Under- 20 Championships ahead of Hsu Li Yang in the 80's.. .He virtually stopped playing after starting work but in recent years, had rekindled his interest in his kamikaze tactical chess. He represented Singapore in the Elista Olympiad and has scalped many a local master including FMs Ong Chong Ghee, Lim Hoon Cheng and Chan Peng Kong. |
