1975 was the first of the 1975-79 GM X-bodies, and Pontiac joined the fray with their econo-car, the
Ventura. It differs from it's siblings the Nova, Omega and Apollo/Skylark in enough ways to set it apart,
but if you look hard enough it's quite easy to tell that they share a platform. Some of the differences that
I've noticed are as follows....

The most obvious difference between the Ventura and it's clones is the front end treatment, but other subtle differences include different taillights, gauge clusters, wheel packages, and of course badging. Now I've never seen a '75 in person, so if I've left anything out, email me at the link on the main page, or here at |
Here is a nice side profile of a '75, and it is pretty consistent with the other years '76-'77 also, with the exception of different front side marker lights on the '77, when they were moved to the fiberglass front end. |
