L A   P A T U M
	La Patum held in Berga is one of the most outstanding folkloric festivities in Catalonia and the greatest festive phenomena still preserved from those derived from the ancient processions of the medieval Corpus. La Patum constitutes a unique element with no comparison in tradicional and popular Catalan and global cultures. La Patum is difficult to both compare and define, because La Patum means happiness, rejoicing and fun while meaning mysticism, emotion, memory and contemplation. La Patum is the festival of the senses, where moments of overflowing festive expression live together with those of intimate inner seclusion. It is a spectacle that allows one to see the spirit and tradition of a community that, for six centuries, has infused this festival with an element of the union and cohesion of the town´s folk.
