G) Procedures of Lighting a Hurricane Lamp
 
  Inserting the wick
 
Step 1: Remove the wick holder from the lamp. 
  Step 2: Insert the wick into the wick holder
  Step 3: Replace the wick holder and the cover.


  Refuel the lamp
Step1: Remove the cap of the paraffin container
  Step 2: Pour the fuel into the container with the aid of a funnel. Screw backs the cap.

   Actual Lighting
Step 1: Lift the chamber holder and the chamber by pressing down the lever.
  Step 2: Release the lever and regulate till there is no soot. (The flame is usually small)

  A) Distinguishing Procedure

  I) Method 1
 
Reduce the flame to its smallest by turning the regulator in the anti-clockwise direction.
  Press down the lever and lock it in its groove.
  Blow off the flame from the bottom of the glass chimney.
  Release the level.


  II) Method 2
 
Slowly turn the regulator in the anti-clockwise direction so that the flame becomes smaller and smaller until it distinguishes.

  B) To remove the wick holder
 
Press down the lever and lock it in its groove.
  Loosen the wick holder and remove it from the kerosene container.


  C) To remove the glass chimney
 
Pull the hook on the top of the ventilator upwards.
  Push the glass chimney out.
  Remove the glass chimney from its holder
