| I graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1998 with a BA in psychology. Later, I continued graduate studies in psychology at Cal Poly while working as a counselor for the City Of Chino. My experience counseling elementary school children greatly influenced me to become a teacher. Therefore, I decided to pursue a multisubject teaching credential at California State University, Los Angeles in 2002. I am currently a volunteer teacher's aid for an elementary school computer class at St. James the Less School. Presently, I am interested in teaching students grades K through 5. In the future, I hope to pursue my masters so I can teach at a college level. |

| My name is Jocelyn, but you may call me Joy, as many of my family and friends call me. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and to this day, I still live there. I am the eldest of two daughters. My parents are Hermenegildo and Josefina. My sister is Anna Jane. I am very close to my family, as many Filipinos traditionally are. |

| What do you do in your spare time??? |
| I enjoy going to Descanso Gardens in La Canada, going to the beach, and taking nature hikes where I take photos with my digital camera. I also enjoy going out with my friends and seeing a movie, eating at some local restaurant, dancing at a club, or singing at a karaoke bar where we just relax and enjoy the evening. When I feel like staying at home, I like to work on arts and crafts, creating all sorts of knick knacks. I also make bead jewelry necklaces and stone and wire pendants. When I don't feel so creative, I just unwind around the house with a nice cup of herbal tea. |
