Current Status:
Amanda is at home @ Fort Lewis Army Base in Washington. She continues to work fulltime for a senior services accounting company, take college courses and live in their home on base waiting for Mike's return.
Mike is still deployed overseas. First, he was in Kuwait for 3 weeks in July 2006. Then, he spent 6 months at FOB Marez (near Mosul, Iraq). Then, his unit moved on to FOB Striker around Baghdad and they continue to be the "to go" force for important missions in and around Baghdad. He came home for a two week mid-deployment leave in March. He was due to complet this tour of duty in June 2007 but the recent troop extensions are now up to 15 months. So, Amanda continues to wait for news on a return date! He has been promoted from Private 1st Class to Specialist 3rd Class since he deployed. |
