First, we had a fun graduation brunch for Mike - with family and friends attending! Of course, we razzed him "big time" about his school years. Then, we all car-pooled to downtown Detroit to watch the Class of 2001 commencement ceremonies in at Chene Park's outdoor ampitheatre on the Detroit River.
It was an exhilarating experience to watch Mike's moment of triumph as he walked confidently across that stage to receive his diploma. We all cheered for his personal victory! And, we applauded when the entire class stood at the end, some of them tossing their dark geen caps into the sky with the crystal blue river bordering Canada as a backdrop for a once in a lifetime memory!
