Locs will bring you, all kinds of attention
and have you living, in a new form of dimension
They can draw many stares, and questions of how and why
a hairstyle not predestined, for the timid nor the shy
People are wondering, why you are committed
and can’t seem to realize, what you have permitted
Most people would feel, uncomfortable by their stares
but in the back of your mind, you are saying who cares
No matter how many people, want to question or blast
stare at your locs, or make comments as they walk past
each of these incident, helps to develop you more
into a better person that you are, as you put them on ignore
What ever anyone says, you take it in stride
You reflect who you are, with respect and with pride
When you are at home, and have no one staring at you
You uplift your spirit, and know they haven’t a clue
You’ve grown locs naturally, that means a lot to you
because of what locs stand for, and because of your views
They stand for endurance, and knowledge of self as well
and what you have accomplished, and how you have excelled
Locs can take a while, to grow and to form
You may have wanted to stop, but you weathered the storm
Times always change, but there are still "stiff necked fools"
who still have not realized, that our locs are rare jewels
