~Poetry Therapy~
For ages, people have felt that poetry, music, and art have a power to heal.
Poetry therapy is the use of poetry to achieve therapeutic goals and enhance personal growth. Its main purpose is the concerns of the person’s well being and the awareness of their emotional needs. Poetry therapy has two guidelines, reading poetry and writing poetry. The chant/song/poem is what heals our heart and soul.
Poetry humanizes because it links the individual by its experience, its rhythms, its words to another in a way which no other form of communication can. Poetry can also help to ease the aloneness, which we all share in common from time to time.
