The Way White Women See It

I am angry that in the New Millennium
White women still do not acknowledge
the evil of their ways,
that they so effortlessly sweep under the rug
that which they do not wish to see
like slavery.
And when, we black women,
wish to discuss
that which has effected us so much,
white women simply say;
"stop making such a fuss."
They do not want to listen, to remember,
to acknowledge the pain.
They only say, "let's move forward,
that was years ago,
what's to gain?"
But atrocities don't die with centuries
they become history.
And even today slavery is still denied.
They say the topic is trite and tired.
So they deal with quickly
instead of honestly.
But history matters,
though they deny it.
When white men raped us,
white women didn't trust us.
And when we were told that we
were beasts without feelings
It didn't stop the master from feeling
black flesh in his bed,
so until white women stop wearing the mask
They may as well kiss my ---!
Talk to me when you understand.
