Bikanelth sat, staring at the lovely female silver curled up in the sunlight a short distance away from him. The blue himself was seated in the shadows of his weyr, where the hard rock was cooler, sheilded from the harsh rays of the sun.
His whirling eyes, which were currently greeny-blue at the moment, were watching the silver with a considerable amount of interest. With a glance back into the weyr to make sure his rider C'ryd was still asleep, he stood up, stretching his body, catlike, and jumped off the ledge into the sunlight. The light splashed across his pale blue hide, and he couldn't help but notice how it made the silver's own skin seem to shine and glitter like a piece of the metal that shared the name.
The dragoness raised her head as the blue's shadow fell over her, and she looked up curiously at the dragon who had disturbed her rest. Bikanelth crooned slightly, and landed on the dusty ground near her.
Hello, I am Bikanelth. He said by way of an introduction.
The silver dragoness cocked her head to one side.
My name's Karneuth. What are you doing here, Bikanelth?
Bikanelth shrugged in reply.
My rider wished to stop at Black Dragon Weyr for a few days. I'm just seeing the sights while we're here.
And very pretty sights they are, too...He thought to himself.
Karneuth's eyes whirled slightly.
And are you enjoying yourself?
Very much so. The blue answered eagerly.
So much, in fact, that I may have to convince my rider to let us stay here longer...
Karneuth laughed, and the sound echoed in Bikanelth's mind like silver bells.
Well, then, I hope you enjoy yourself during your stay, blue Bikanelth. With that, the silver dragoness stood up, and disappeared into her own weyr.
Bikanelth watched her leave, eyes whirling slowly, pleased.

Later that night, Bikanelth stormed into his weyr, where his rider C'ryd was already asleep. The blue bugled softly to wake his rider, who protested sleepily and buried his head underneath the pillow. "Go 'way." The 21-turn-old grumbled, still half asleep.
Bikanelth snorted, blowing warm dragon-breath over his rider and ruffling up the man's already-frizzy hair. One hazel-green eyes opened reluctantly, peeking out from underneath the pillow. "What do you want?" C'yrd asked resignedly.
There's this female rising, a beautiful silver named Karneuth.
C'yrd groaned. "Can't we talk about this tomorrow?"
I hope that means you'll be signing me up for the flight tomorrow.
"It means I'll
consider it tomorrow. All I want to do right now is sleep."
I'm not moving from this spot until you agree to sign me up. Bikanelth replied stubbornly, thumping his tail around the (very small) weyr, no doubt knocking several things over in the process.
Whether out of fear of his dragon causing anymore damage to his weyr, or in the interest of being able to sleep, C'ryd sighed. "Alright, I'll sign you up for this female's flight tomorrow. Leave me alone." He said as he buried his head underneath the pillow again.
Bikanelth crowed in delight, backing up very clumsily on his way out of the weyr, no doubt off to celebrate his victory over his rider. C'ryd rolled his eyes and pulled the covers over his head.
After a few minutes with eyes squeezed tightly shut and still awake, C'yrd groaned and sat up. "Bikanelth! You sharding dragon! Now I can't get back to sleep!"
