"Ummm....uhhhhh...here ya go!" Annie gave him her school I.D. The bouncer looked at it carefully. "Honey...this says that your 17!" "Yeah I am," Replied Annie, " So give me a little ‘x' thingie like you gave Nick so I can get in!" The bouncer laughed, "You're new at this, aren't you? You gotta be 18 kid! NEXT!?" He screamed pushing her aside as the thumping bass blared from the club. Annie looked to Nick, who had always been by her side through thick and thin. But this time he wasn't there. This time he was too busy following Brittany like a puppy dog without a leash. Annie went and sat down on the curb wondering what to do. She didn't have her car with her and she had left her purse in AJ's car, so he was left with only $10 to her name. She had nowhere to turn so she sat on the curb of main street and moped. All of a sudden she heard the sound of a familiar voice. "Yo shorty, what's your problem?" Her older sister Elizabeth blurted out from her beat up black Grand Am. "Just take me home, I'll tell you in the car." Annie shot back. "Well, shit happens kid!" Elizabeth replied after Annie told her the whole story. "I say you come with me to where the real party is! You're almost 18!" "Sounds good!" Said Annie feeling daring and revengeful. ****Back At The Club**** Nick looked at his watch. He wasn't having the best time considering Kevin was dancing with Brittany the whole time. He looked in their direction. Brittany was all smiles and Kevin looked happier than he had been in a while. Nick walked over to them. "Brittany, I gotta get going." He said pulling her aside from the slow dance that Kevin and Brittany were involved with. Kevin was glancing in their direction "How about tomorrow night I show you around the town a bit?" Nick suggested. "Sounds great Nick, call me tomorrow at Melissa's." She replied. Nick said goodbye to Howie and was out the door. It wasn't until Nick jumped into his truck and turned the key when he realized that Annie had come with them. He picked up his cell phone and called her house. "Annie’s not here right now but she should be, it's a school night after all," said her mom, "I would try either Melissa or Brett's house." Nick hung up and called both Melissa and Brett, no answer. Then he called AJ's apartment remembering that AJ was the one who brought Annie to the club, he left a message on AJ's machine.
