I See You Chapter 8 "Sunny! You scared me!" Nick sighed. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Nothing, I was just bored," he turned off the machine and started to get up. "Oh, so when you are bored you decide to play detective?" Nick looked at me, first confused then a little nervous. He sat back down. "Why were you looking at the old newspapers Nick?" "Um, I didn't mean, I mean I was only curious." Nick stumbled over words. "If you want to know something about me, just ask me Nick. Don't go digging behind my back for info." "Just ask you? OK, then why were you crying at the first practice? Why did you run off when AJ accused you of burning his house after saying you didn't do it?" he whispered. I didn't expect him to ask me those questions, I thought they would be about the accident. "Were you reading about the car accident?" I asked. "Yes." "They both have to do with that." I sat down on the chair next to him. *Flashback* "I'm about to meet the man of my dreams!" Becky squealed. "Oh yeah? Well, I hope you and the body guard live happily ever after!" I teased. "Hey! I'm meant to meet Nick! If I don't, you will!" "Oh lucky me, I hope you meet him then!" "Mrs. McCloud, please turn the radio up! This is my favorite song!" Becky begged. Brian's sweet voice filled the car, "When I asked you out, you said no, but I found out. Darlin' that you've been hurt..." Becky and I both started to sing along during the chorus, "I'll never break your heart, I'll never make you crrrrryyyyyyaahhhhh!!!!!" Screams and metal crunching echoed in my ears. *Back To Present* "That song I had on in that room," I thought really hard trying to remember its name. "As Long As You Love Me?" Nick asked. "Yeah, that's it. Anyways, four of my friends and I did this little dance routine in a talent show to that song. I cried cos it brought back a lot of memories. Um, the fire thing. I didn't mean to run away. It's just that I have never broken down and cried in front of anyone this past year. So, I ran so no one would see me cry." "There's more to it though, why won't you tell me?" Nick asked. "Because I hardly know you and it is hard for me to tell someone these things. Things that no one knows. My aunt only knows the basic stuff, but not the details." "Do you think you might be able to trust me sometime during the tour to tell me?" I smiled, "Maybe, you'll just have to trust me first though." "I do trust you. Remember, my life is in your hands." *All though loneliness has always been a friend of mine, I'm leaving my life in your hands.*Next: Chapter 9 |
