One Sweet Day Chapter 4 Nicole got up around 7:00 a.m. the next day. Still feeling a little dizzy from last night she slipped on her jogging outfit for a nice jog before she went to work. Tina was already awake making breakfast. "Hey Niki you want anything to eat before I leave?" "No thanks. I'll grab a bite to eat at work," she lied. "Okay, see ya when I get back." "Bye," she called as Tina disappeared out the door. After her jog she came back to the apartment took a shower and got ready for work. Nicole worked for a fashion agency designing clothes. "Miss Regle, you have three messages and these roses just came in for you," her secretary said as she entered the building. Nicole picked up the roses and read the note inside:
Dear Niki,
Hey baby wuz up? Thought I'd drop off a little suprise for you. Meet
me in the lobby at noon for lunch.
LOVE,
B-Rok
"He's too much," she said to herself. At noon Brian was waiting expectantly in the lobby as she got off the elevator. "Twelve o'clock on the dot," Brian said as he kissed her on her cheek. "As always," she added."So, where to darling?" she said impersonating a rich person. "I was maybe thinking the most expensive restaurant in town, or Mc Donald's," he said playing along. "I'll have to go with Mc Donald's." "Mc Donald's it is." Nicole didn't eat all that much at Mc Donald's. She was determined to loose weight. And besides, Brian ate most of her food anyway. She decided to ditch the rest of her hectic day at work and spend the rest of it with Brian. They went to Disney World and had the time of their lives. Nicole was so in love with Brian and she wanted to be perfect for him like he was to her. It was just one sweet day. A month had passed and Nicole was getting paler and skinnier everyday. She now weighed 120 pounds. Tina knocked on Nicole's bedroom door. "Come in." "Nicole we need to talk." "What about?" she said shuffling through some papers in her briefcase. "Well I've noticed that you've gotten a little skinny. Are you okay?" "Yeah I'm fine," she said working on her papers. "Are you sure? I'm really worried about you and I don't-" "I'm fine okay!" she snapped back. "Why don't you mind your damn business!" "I'm sorry. I was just concerned that's all," she said beginning to leave her room. Tina stopped, turned back around and walked back over to Nicole. "Niki, you might be mad right now, but that is no reason to take it out on me. Now I know something's up with you. It's your choice whether you want to tell me or not. If you need anything I'm here for you, but if you're going to continue to act like a bitch you can just forget it." She walked out of the room and closed the door. Nicole sat dumbfounded by what her bestfriend just said to her. Tina had never talked to her like that before. Then again she never said anything like that to Tina before. She cut off the light in her room and cried herself to sleep.Next: Chapter 5 |
