Peas and Carrots Chapter 24 "Okay, that’s it. I can’t take it anymore!” I shouted as I jumped on him, landing on his stomach. “Ooof!” exclaimed Nick as he took his hands from behind his back to grab his stomach. I was still sitting on him when he was attempting this, so it was rather hard for him to accomplish this feat. “So? What is it? Or do I have to start bouncing on your stomach?” I said, looking down at him. He tried to reply to me, but couldn’t. He managed to mouth something to me, but I can’t read lips very well. I guess I had knocked the wind out of him. “Nick?” I asked as I got off of him and kneeled on the floor next to the bed so I was eye-level with him. “Are you okay? I didn’t mean to knock the wind out of you. I’m sorry.” I was worried that I had hurt him. I saw a devilish grin start to appear at the corners of his mouth. “Nick? I said are you okay? Say something!” As soon as I was done talking, Nick lunged forwards at me, hitting me and sending us both sailing to the ground. We ended up in a wrestling match that seemed to last for at five minutes. I’m not sure how long it actually was, because you know how time flies when you’re having fun, don’t you? I tried pinning Nick to the ground like he had done to me at the beach, but couldn’t quite master it. I had never won any of the wrestling matches against my brother, and Nick is a lot bigger than my brother will ever be, so I was sure to lose. Sure enough, Nick won, pinning my shoulders to the ground and sitting on my legs. “Well?” I asked as I stared back up at Nick, noticing for the first time how pretty his eyes were. I’ve always had a thing for eyes. People say eyes are the window to the soul. They were just something I seemed to noticed a lot. “Well, what?” replied Nick, not knowing what I was talking about, obviously. “Well,” I began, wondering if I should say it, “are you going to kiss me, or what?”Next: Chapter 25 |
