Lost Dreams Chapter 6 AJ was sitting on his knees in front of the grave. He softly ran his finger over the letters. 'I miss you.' A single tear ran down his cheek. He didn't bother to wipe it away. A movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention. He looked up and saw a young girl running away. He got to his feet and looked around. Two other followed her. 'Hey, this is a holy place. Don't go running around.' One of the girls stopped running and turned around. 'Holy place? All these people are dead.' 'All these people are dead.' AJ heard voices all around him. 'Dead people, dead people.' AJ turned around in circles. Four girls came walking towards him. AJ franticly looked around to see where they were. He stepped back and fell over a rock. One of the girls started laughing. 'He can't even stand on his own two feet.' 'Leave him alone.' A clear voice said from behind AJ. He looked up and saw a beautiful young girl standing there. Her blue eyes were sparkling. The other girls looked at her and left. 'Are you okay?' AJ nodded. 'They just scared me a bit. Running around a graveyard in the middle of the night.' The girl smiled. 'They were keeping me company.' 'What are you doing here in the middle of the night?' The girl sat down next to AJ. 'My parents are buried over there.' She pointed at a dark part of the cemetary. 'My girlfriend is lying here.' AJ pointed at the headstone. The girl gasped. 'I'm so rude. My name is Kathy.' 'AJ.' They sat silently next to each other for a while. 'How did she die?' 'Who?' 'Your girlfriend.' AJ took a deep breath. 'I was out one night and when I came back Krystle was lying on the couch dead. She just died. Nobody knew what caused it.' Kathy stroke his back. 'She is happy in heaven with my parents.' Kathy looked around. 'I have to go. I might see you sometimes.' AJ jumped to his feet. 'No, wait, don't go.' AJ looked around but saw her nowhere. 'Who are you looking for, young man?' An old man stood behind him. 'She was here talking to me and now she is gone.' The man shrugged. 'Nothing is the way you think it is.' AJ looked confused. 'What was she doing here?' 'Her parents were buried over there.' The man looked in the direction AJ had pointed. 'Those graves are all from before the turn of the century. Sometime the dead aren't dead.' The man gave AJ chills. 'What are you on about?' The man didn't say anything. AJ heard footsteps coming their way. 'Hannah, your friends just left.' A young girl showed up. 'I know Joe, I'm just enjoying a nice walk without five bodyguards.' AJ looked at her. 'Enjoying a walk on a cemetary. Weird people.' AJ turned and walked away. 'Not everything is what it looks like.' AJ pretended not to hear the man. He was giving him the creeps.Next: Chapter 7 |
