His wife turned around in his arms. ‘Where are your thoughts?’ Kevin kissed her forehead. ‘I was thinking about Brian.’ ‘Brian died 9 years ago.’ ‘I know and I had known he was sick I could have saved him.’ His wife sighed. ‘Don’t do this to yourself. I know it is hard to loose three good friends but please you have a family. I love you.’ Someone snarled in the darkness. His wife stiffened in his arms. ‘What was that?’ ‘Probably a bird. Why don’t you check on the kids.’ His wife nodded and walked inside. Kevin turned around and said: ‘You are invited Alec.’ Alec stepped into the light. She hadn’t changed a bit. Kevin opened his arms and hugged her. ‘I missed you.’ He said. ‘Serves you right for moving to South Africa for four years.’ Kevin chuckled. ‘You are still married to her?’ He nodded. ‘ We have children.’ ‘I know. I’ve been watching you for a while now. You look like shit.’ Alec touched his cheek. ‘I can help you Kevin.’ Kevin covered her hand with his. ‘Don’t start again.’ ‘You miss Howie and Nick. You blame your self for calling Jess too late when Brian was dying.’ Kevin looked away. ‘Your wife would die if she knew you are having an affair with a vampire.
