Sunset Chapter 23 When I woke up, Nick was looking into my eyes. “Morning beautiful. How did you sleep?” “Good.” Nick climbed in next to me. “Where’d you go?” “No where.” “You went somewhere.” I looked at him disbelievingly. “All right. I went to get something for our baby.” He admitted. “What?” “This.” He reached over the bed and pulled up a stuffed bear. “It was mine when I was little. When I found out you were pregnant and all right. I called my mom up to see if she still had it. She sent it here. I want our baby to have it.” I took the bear from him. “That is so sweet. But I heard your car leave.” I kissed him on the lips. “I also got some samples to decorate the baby’s room and our house with.” He handed me the samples and kissed my belly. “You’re probably.. no you are.. the best husband anyone could ever have.” “And you’re the best wife. I promise I’m going to take care of both of you.” I smiled. I put the samples and the bear down and kissed Nick. He kissed me back. I kissed his nose and laid my head on his chest. He ran his fingers through my hair a couple of times. “In a couple of days we have a company party to go to. I might have to leave you alone for an hour or two there.” “Why can’t I stay with you?” “You’re not allowed to hear private conversations. By the way. N’Sync will be there.” I gagged. “I forgot you hate them.” “How can you?” I glared at him. “Keep them away from me.” “I’ll try.” He kissed my forehead. “Have any nice dresses?” “Yeah.” I got up and showed him. “Nice.
