A BSB Fan's Dream Come True Chapter 34 The crimson glow of the moonlight cascaded down on Dalilia and Howie, as they sat outside the patio of an Italian restaurant called "Gustave's". Emilie had telephoned the restaurant and arranged a romantic evening after the concert, for Dalilia and Howie to get to know one another. Emilie had somehow found a dozen red roses and given them to Howie before the special dinner. She was back at the motel, watching Katie and Brandy, as they watched a Disney movie from the pay-per-view movie system from Emilie's motel room. "It's so beautiful out tonight," Dalilia commented. Howie was in awe of this beautiful woman sitting in front of him. She was wearing a royal purple cocktail dress that ended just above her delicate knees. She was wearing black pumps, and her hair was swept up in a sexy French twist. "Yes, it is," Howie agreed, as he shifted closer to her. "What are you going to order?" "Probably the Liguini," she answered. "I love the taste of it. My roommate and I used to make it every Saturday night when I was at UCLA." "My mom cooks great homemade food," Howie told her. "I miss her cooking when I am on the road." "That's nice," Dalilia smiled. "My mom never cooks. She usually orders catering when Katie and I come to visit her." "Good evening," said the waiter, and Dalilia and Howie looked up to reveal a man dressed in an impressive black tuxedo. "What can I get you to eat this evening?" Dalilia and Howie ordered their entrees, as well as appetizers, and Howie ordered an ounce of white wine as well. "How did Katie enjoy the show?" Howie asked Dalilia, as she smiled at him. "She was so impressed by the rounded stage and enjoyed spending time with Brandy," Dalilia answered smoothly. "I enjoyed it more then her though." Howie winked at her, and she winked back. "Did you have to work this week?" Howie wanted to know. "Of course I do," Dalilia rolled her eyes. "Being a lawyer is heart-wrenching. I sometimes wish I picked a job like teaching, where I can spend more time with Katie. It's hard to be a single mother." "Does your ex-husband helped you out at all?" Howie asked. "Yeah right," Dalilia laughed. "The only thing he ever does is make promises to my daughter he can't keep. I have been raising Katie since the day she was born. His job was always more important to him." "Dalilia, you have done a wonderful job," Howie reassured her. "At least Katie has you." "Thanks Howie," she smiled. "But, there's always something I wish I could do better. Sometimes I wonder if I am doing such a good job. My mother tells me I am, but there's always part of me that wishes her father was in the picture for her sake." "Dalilia, don't say that," Howie reminded her. "I have only known you for a day, but I can tell you have a done an exceptional job." "Thanks," she smiled once more, as the waiter set down their sparkling wine. "Anyways, where are you going tonight?" "I think we are heading for Long Island," Howie answered. "Then, off to Philadelphia." "You sure do have a busy schedule," Dalilia told him, as a wave of sadness came over her. "We probably won't be able to see other again for a while. I am involved in a new courtcase starting Monday and you're on tour." "Dal, don't think that way," Howie reassured her. "Think about when the tour is over..." "But, is that too long away?" Dalilia wanted to know, and Howie shook his head...Emilie took out the package her mom had sent her, as Nick played with Brandy and Katie with his beloved Nintendo 64. She opened it to reveal her brochures from Carleton University. There was one on residences, one on a meal plan, as well as a whole student package about when school started and when she had to move in to university. It was barely two weeks away. She was nervous, scared, but a wave of excitement had transformed over her because a part of her life was ending and a new part was beginning. She glanced at Nick, and felt bad that she would be in school five days a week, and wondered if they were ever going to see each other until Christmas. "What did your mom send you?" Nick asked, as he came and sat on the bed beside her. "Just information on Carleton University," Emilie answered softly, and she glanced at him. "Em, that's great," Nick replied genuinely. "You should be more excited about starting university." "Really Nick?" Emilie asked, and he nodded. "It's gonna suck not being around you every day." "Hey, remember what happened on the last tour?" Nick reminded her. "We made it work." "I know, I know," Emilie nodded. "But, what if you meet someone else?" "Em, I love you, and only you," Nick reminded her, as tears came to her eyes. "I know Nick," Emilie answered, as tears poured down her cheeks. "I'm sorry." "Hey, don't be sorry," Nick assured her, and brushed a tear away from her face. "Just go to Carleton, have a great time, and just remember I'm always on the other side of the ocean." "Okay," Emilie responded, as she stood up. "I think I am going to go for a walk. Do you mind watching these two munchkins?" "Sure, no prob," Nick promised, and he kissed her forehead quickly, before heading over for another round of Pokemon with Katie and Brandy. Emilie escaped from the motel room, and decided to walk down by the ball, and into a small park that was adjacent to the motel. So many thoughts were running through her head. So many decisions. Her school started a month earlier then all her friends', and she wished she would have chosen a different university. She had visited the campus with Ariale back in March and had fallen in love immediately with the Victorian style buildings and the plush English gardens. She had fought a sense of belonging as she had walked through the four main residences and saw all the students enjoying their second home. She wanted desperately to experience life on her own, but nobody else in the school was going through what she was. Nobody else had an adoring famous boyfriend who she loved more then anything in the world. She was going to miss him more then she had admitted, and would probably cry herself to sleep the first few weeks, because he isn't near her. She went into the elevator, and listened as it gently buzzed down to the bottom floor. She escaped out of the confined space, and turned to see about fifteen fans lingering near the doors. She watched as they recognized her, but stayed right where they were. She was surprised, because usually they rushed at her, especially when she was with Nick. She went out the side entrance, and turned to see the outdoor pool. It was decorated in a oval shape, and she saw that Justin, Lance, AJ, and Joey had decided to take a late night swim, before heading on the tourbus for Long Island at 1 am. "Em, what are you doing out here all by yourself?" AJ asked her, as he toweled off. "Just thinking, I guess," Emilie answered, staring up at the stars. "Are you enjoying your swim?" "Pretty much," AJ nodded, and she gave him a smile. She turned the other way, and decided to walk towards the park. She heard footsteps behind her, and she whirled around to see AJ. "What's up?" Emilie asked him. "About before-," AJ replied nervously. "I think I am ready to tell you." "It's about Ariale, isn't it?" Emilie guessed and AJ nodded slightly. Emilie noticed a bench near the walkway, and went and she motioned them to sit down. "Are you okay though?" AJ wanted to know, and Emilie shook her head. "I'm leaving everyone in one week," she told him, and AJ looked at her with shocked eyes. "Why?" AJ cried, and she looked at him. "My university classes start in two weeks," Emilie answered, and she saw AJ nod. "AJ, I can't believe it. I can't go. I am going to miss Nick and you guys so much. It's going to be so hard, being so far away from Nick and my family. Gawd, what am I going to do?" Tears streamed down her face for the first time since the cheating incident, and AJ wrapped his arms around her. "Em, we're going to miss you too," AJ whispered into her ear. "It's okay. You have to go!" "I know, I know," Emilie nodded. "I am acting like a big baby." "No, you're acting like someone who cares a lot about everyone around her," AJ told her, and she smiled at him. "Don't you think for one second that we aren't going to be visiting you every weekend. You'll be so sick of us, that you'll be glad that you moved away!" "Oh Bone, how am I going to get through school without your sense of humor?" Emilie wanted to know. "I'll e-mail you a dirty joke every day," AJ promised. "I bet Oceane will too." "Probably," Emilie laughed. "So, what's up with Ariale?" "We decided to split up this afternoon," AJ told her, as he motioned her to stand up. "We thought it wouldn't work out." "You've been together barely a week though!" Emilie protested. "I'm a player Em," AJ admitted. "What can I say?" "That's okay AJ," Emilie told him, as they walked back to the pool. "As long as you and Ariale are happy, I'm happy for you." "I just wish I could meet someone that I could be with for a while," AJ told her, as Emilie shrieked as water splashed all over her. AJ turned to see Lance and Justin smiling at her with devious grins. "You are so dead boys!" Emilie shrieked. "What are you going to do about it?" Justin teased, and Emilie jumped in the pool after him. She swam after him, with the help of Joey, and drenched Justin with a wave of water. "I surrender! No more splashes. I promise!" "Sure Curly," Emilie winked at him, as she climbed out of the pool, and AJ threw her a towel. "Thanks for the talk AJ. I'm going because I see Dalilia and Howie have arrived from their romantic rendezvous. See you in the morning guys." "Bye Em," Joey yelled, as he splashed Justin again. "Night Em," AJ told him, and he patted her shoulder as she walked by. She smiled at him, and headed up the stone walkway, shivering from he cold. She heard a girl giggling, and a soft guy's voice. She turned to see Elvira and JC, talking softly in a candle-lit table for two. "Hi," Emilie smiled at them, and continued on her way. She went into the lobby, and ran right into Dalilia and Howie. She admired how much of a cute couple they were. "Hey Em," Howie winked at her cheerfully. "Late night swim?" "Hi," Emilie smiled at them. "No, Justin and Lance soaked me, but I jumped in and soaked Justin even more." "Sounds like you had a fun evening," Dalilia laughed. "Is Nick with Katie? I hope she wasn't too much trouble." "She was an angel," Emilie told her. "I hope you had a wonderful dinner." "It was beyond wonderful," Howie replied. "Thanks a lot for making the arrangements. That was very kind of you." "You guys have done more for me, and that was just a small gesture to show you how much I appreciate all the wonderful things you and all the guys have done for me," Emilie answered, and she felt tears mist in her eyes. She was going to miss these guys, so much more then she could ever imagine. "Is everything okay Emilie?" Dalilia asked, concerned. "Not really," Emilie offered a smile. "I just received notice though that I have to leave the tour for university in a week." "A week?" Howie cried, and she remembered AJ's reaction. "Yep, a week," Emilie answered, as they got off on their floor. "But, we still have a week, right?" "Sure do," Dalilia reassured them, trying to sound cheerful. They stopped at Emilie's and Brandy's room, and knocked softly on the door. Nick answered with a flourish, to reveal Brandy and Katie conked out on Brandy's bed. They were both sucking their thumbs, and their hair was shifted around their heads like angels. "They look so adorable," Emilie gushed, as Dalilia oohed and aahed over them. Howie exchanged a look with Nick and he motioned towards the door. "We'll be back to say good night," Howie promised, and they went into the hall. "So, she told you?" Nick said as soon as the door shut. "Damn Howie. One week." "I know man," Howie told him. "This majorly sucks." "What sucks?" Kevin asked, as he opened his motel room door. "Em's leaving the tour in a week," Howie informed him. "A week?" Kevin cried, and he shook his head. "Why, are you two having problems again?" "No!" Nick snapped. "She is leaving for university." "Oh sorry," Kevin apologized. "One week. That's not very long, considering she's been on tour with us for a while." "Man, this sucks," Howie commented, as they went into Kevin's room, where Brian was making kissing noises into the telephone receiver. He turned embarrassed, as he saw the guys on the burst of laughter. "LeighAnne, gotta go sweetheart," Brian whispered into the phone. "The clowns have arrived." "Great kissing impression," Nick teased him, and Brian glared at him. "Don't compare kissing noises with me," Brian told him. "All I hear when you are sleeping is 'Oh Emilie. I love you. You are my sunshine. You are my best friend.'" "Aw, so sweet," Howie and Kevin teased him, as Nick blushed. "Well, I love Emilie," Nick defended himself. "You'd better tell Brian the news," Howie told him, and Brian looked at them with alarm. "What news?" Brian wanted to know. "Em is leaving us in a week," Nick informed him, as they heard a rap on the door. Kevin opened it, and saw AJ walk in. "Why all the sour faces?" AJ asked. "Did you know Em's leaving in a week?" Nick asked him. "She told me," AJ admitted. "She's really upset about it. She said she's going to miss us all a lot." "Definitely not as much as we are going to miss her," Brian spoke up. "Damn guys. We have over two and a half months of touring left. Things won't be the same." "Who are we going to talk to?" Howie wanted to know. "Who's going to actually do our laundry for us?" Kevin asked. "Who's going to make us laugh with her Barney impressions?" AJ added. "Who's going to kiss me good night?" Nick whispered, and he felt tears form in his eyes. "Nick, it's okay buddy," Brian told him, as he wrap an arm around him. "We simply can't let her go." "We have to let her go," Kevin explained. "I got it. We spoil her for the rest of the week. You know. AJ, you can take her shopping. Howie, we can cook her dinner. Nick, you can buy her some CD's because you know how much she loves music, and Bri, you can book her a day in one of those expensive spas." "Why not throw her a going away party?" AJ suggested. "Where are we going to be on July 25th?" "Ottawa, Ontario," Kevin told him. "How about fly all her family and friends for a surprise going away party at the Hyatt Motel down there? I'll talk to the Firm and see if they can arrange all the details." "This is nice, but it still isn't the same," Nick told them. "Face it guys. Em's gone forever." "No, she's not," Brian reminded him. "She's gone to school. She can always visit us and we can visit her. This is Em's future. We have to support her. Besides, if she had never won that contest one year ago, we would have never met her. She was always planning on going to university anyway." "Very true B-Rok," AJ nodded. "Nick, you'll be okay." "Not really," Nick sulked, as they heard a knock on the door. Kevin opened it to reveal Emilie "Can I join the party?" Emilie asked them, as Howie went out to say good night to Dalilia and Katie. "What's wrong? Why do you all look like you are going to lose your best friend?" "We are going to lose our best friend," AJ told her, and Emilie looked confused for a moment. "What best friend? Who?" Emilie asked. "You Em," Brian told her, and she looked at them in surprise. "We are going to miss you so much." "Not as much as I'm going to miss you," Emilie choked back tears. "Just don't remind me." "How about you get an on-the-road tutor?" AJ suggested. "Guys, be supportive," Kevin reminded them. "Em, I wish you luck. Just don't listen to these guys." "Thanks Kev," Emilie smiled, at him, and he gave her a hug. "But, this doesn't mean you can't come and see us on weekends?!" Kevin made her promise, and she nodded. "I will, as long as you guys help me move in!" Emilie replied. "It's a deal," Kevin promised. "Can I get the first dibs on your hot roommates?" AJ asked her, and she laughed. "Naw. Seriously, I am going to miss you. You have been so good to me, to all of us." "No, you have been so good to me," Emilie reminded him. "Guys, I'm not leaving now." She heard a sniffle, and saw Nick, as tears poured down his cheeks. "But, you will be," Nick spoke up for the first time since she entered the room. "Oh Nick, I'm so sorry," Emilie gushed, as she wrapped her arms around her. "I wish I could stay and be with you. I love you." "Em, I'm going to miss you like crazy," Nick told her, as AJ started humming the Moffats song. "AJ," Emilie had to laugh. "Nick, I'm going to miss you too baby. Just imagine all the time we can spend together." "I know, I know sweetie," Nick told her, as he wrapped his arms around her once more. "Don't ever doubt my love for you." "Same here," Emilie answered, and they sealed it with a kiss. "Now, on the basis of your departure," Howie began. "You are not to lift one finger to do any cleaning up for us. You aren't to offer to buy us anything. You are going to be our royalty for one week." "Royalty? You already have made me feel like a queen!" Emilie told him. "Look guys. Don't worry about doing anything for me. I love helping out." "You do too much," Brian reminded her. "No, you guys have done more then enough," Emilie argued. "Look, you guys have all treated me with respect, kindness, and caring since the day Nick and I started going out. You are always looking out for me and are so good to my family and my friends. You love me just as much as I love you, and that's all you have to give me. Understood?" "But my love is all I have to give-," AJ sang, and Emilie smiled. "Em, we feel the exactly way," Howie winked at her, and they all gave her a big hug, as Brandy knocked on the door, and joined in the hugfest within five seconds...*Don't worry! The story is not ending! I just needed a new storyline and decided that including Emilie's new university life would be awesome. I hope you like the story ideas, and I hope to keep writing the story up to Chapter 100! Who knows what will happen by then? :) Gotta go! Always, Em :) |
