Emilie's New Life
by Emilie (emmarosebsb@hotmail.com)
Chapter 12
*Hi everyone! Before this confuses you, I'll explain. There are now two Brian's in the story. Brian Littrell of course who spells his name Brian with an I. Then, there's the new Bryan who spells his name with a Y. So don't be confused. I'll try not to have them in the same scenes. But, just be aware! Thanks! Happy reading! :)*
Nick slammed the door of his Jeep shut, as Howie got out of the passenger side at the same time. The sunshine was beating down heavily on their backs, as they made their ways towards the entrance of the Downtown Disney Marketplace. Nick had received a phone call from AJ about an hour before to meet them for dinner, and he had just had enough time to swing by Howie's parents house to get changed and pick him up. He was staying there for the video shoot because now he lived in Tampa and it was a long drive back and forth.
"You look depressed Nick," Howie observed, as they both put on sunglasses and Nick put on a hat as well, so they wouldn't get recognized. "What's up?"
"I'm worried about Emilie," Nick told him. "I wonder if they told her about Drew yet."
"They did," Howie replied. "Emilie took it well and broke up with him on the phone."
"Really?" Nick asked him, his concerned blue eyes meeting Howie's soulful brown ones.
"I'm positive," Howie answered smiling. "Don't worry so much."
"I try not to," Nick sighed, as they retreated through the entrance and had to dodge about ten kids who were running through a sprinkler system with delight, while their parents watched them cautiously, gabbing away to one another. "But with Emilie, I'm always worried about her."
"She is your best friend," Howie reminded him. "It's only natural Man. Don't worry."
"Okay," Nick smiled, as they headed towards the Rainforest Cafe. Nick turned to see four young girls watching him closely. They seemed to be looking closely, got dissatisfied, and turned away. Nick breathed a sigh of relief, as Howie and him walked into the restaurant. Right away, they noticed AJ because of his beige cowboy hat, and saw Amanda, Torrie, and Emilie standing with them.
"They are right there," Howie pointed towards them. Nick nodded, and they headed over to them.
"Torrie, my hair is not fake," Amanda argued with her. "Why don't you just leave me alone?"
"I'm kidding," Torrie teased her. "Emilie's hair is fake though."
"Hi everyone!" Howie smiled at them. "How are you all?"
"Hi Howie! Hi Nick!" Torrie screeched, as she smiled at them. "We're all wonderful. Just waiting anxiously for a table. It's taking too long actually!" She said the last sentence louder, hoping the hostess would sit them quicker.
"Hi," Emilie smiled at them, as Nick gave her a hug. "How are you?"
"Good thanks Hun," Nick told her. "You look nice. How are you?"
"I'm okay," Emilie smiled back, as they stood to one side, and Nick kept an arm around her. "Torrie is getting on everyone's nerves. I don't know where it's coming from."
"Don't worry about her," Nick replied. "She probably has PMS or something."
"So, how's everything going?" Emilie asked.
"How long with the table be?" Torrie screamed at the hostess.
"Twenty minutes m'am," the hostess snapped back. "We're busy. Can't you see?"
"Well, I am a paying customer and I demand my table right now! Don't you know who we are?" Torrie shrieked.
"I don't care who you are," the hostess replied. "These people have been waiting longer than you, so I suggest waiting your turn or go somewhere else."
"We're the Backstreet Boys," Torrie shouted at her. "Don't we get priority seating?"
"I didn't know they were female," the hostess smiled at her smugly. "Wait your turn m'am. We're trying as fast as we can."
"Thank you," AJ cut in, pulling Torrie back. "Torrie, have a little consideration. We are normal people and I don't want the whole restaurant knowing we are here."
"Whatever," Torrie rolled her eyes, and stepped back.
"We're going for a walk," Nick told everyone.
"Don't do anything," Torrie told them, and both Nick and Emilie rolled their eyes.
"I can see how she's getting on everyone's nerves," Nick commented, as they streamed out of the restaurant and into the crowds.
"She has just changed lately," Emilie told Nick. "She keeps bothering Amanda and then keeps trying to tell AJ that we should get together, and then bothers me that I still like you. I can't handle it anymore."
"She just wants attention," Nick told her. "I think she likes AJ and she wants to break Amanda and him up."
"But, why would she tell AJ that I like him?" Emilie replied, shaking her head. "It makes no sense."
"It sure doesn't," Nick agreed. "Oh well. So, how are things with you? How's Drew?"
"He's an asshole," Emilie replied, looking up into the sky. "He was with Billie the whole time he was trying to get to know me. He kissed me last night, and I really thought something was going to happen between us."
"How did you dump him?" Nick wanted to know.
"I told him I was player and we weren't compatible with one another!" Emilie smiled. "What a loser!"
"Good one," Nick laughed. "Don't worry Em. You'll find someone special soon."
"Nick!" she heard someone yell in a thick Irish accent. They both turned to see two guys walking towards them, and Emilie's eyes almost popped out of her eyes.
"Hey Bryan! Hi Shane!" Nick smiled at them. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Hi Nick," Bryan McFadden from Westlife replied. "We were just checking out Disneyworld. It's very nice here. What about you?"
"We're just having dinner tonight with a few friends," Nick replied smiling, as Emilie looked shyly at both Bryan and Shane Filan. She was a big fan of Westlife, and couldn't believe she was running into them. "This is my best friend Emilie. She's from Ottawa, well technically Toronto, but she goes to school in Ottawa. She's going to be in our video tomorrow. Em, this is Shane and Bryan from Westlife."
"Nice to meet you," Shane grinned at her, as Bryan looked at her shyly.
"Hi," Emilie blushed. "I love your new single. I keep listening to it over and over again."
"Thanks," Shane smiled again. "We're honoured because it's great to meet someone who actually knows who we are. Nobody around here does."
"They will soon," Emilie smiled, as she glanced over at Bryan. For some reason, she found him incredibly attractive, and also seemed shy and sweet.
Bryan met her eyes, and gave her a big smile.
"Why don't you guys join us for dinner?" Nick suggested. "Just be warned about Emilie's roommate Torrie. She is being rather difficult tonight."
"No problem," Shane nodded. "Right Bryan? Why are you being so quiet? Usually you never shut up!"
"That sounds great," Bryan finally spoke up. "I was just thinking."
"Sure whatever," Shane winked at him, and Bryan blushed. "So Emilie, you get to be in a video tomorrow? Are you nervous?"
"A little," Emilie replied, as they walked back to the restaurant. "The guys keep telling me it's going to be no problem, so I am not really worried that much."
"You'll be fine," Shane assured her. "What's the concept Nick?"
"We're filming at the Magic Kingdom tomorrow," Nick replied, as they entered the restaurant. "We're doing this whole Cinderella/Prince Charming thing. Emilie is playing Cinderella."
"That's cool," Shane told them. "Right Bryan?"
"Yeah," Bryan nodded, and Shane laughed. "What?"
"Nothing," Shane replied, and whispered the next thing into his ear. "Stop drooling over Emilie. I think she's dating Nick."
"Actually, we aren't dating," Nick told Shane, overhearing the whisper, as Emilie went ahead to meet the others, who were getting to be seated. "My girlfriend is Mandy. Emilie is single."
"And, so are you Bryan," Shane teased him. "What a coincidence!"
"Shane, shut up man," Bryan shook his head. "She's very goodlooking, but she probably wouldn't want me."
"Watch this," Shane told him, as Emilie turned around to smile at them, but her gaze was fixed straight on Bryan. "See? She likes you!"
"I don't think so," Bryan replied, but he really didn't know. They waited while Emilie told them that there was two more people joining their group. Torrie, Howie, Amanda, and AJ turned around to see who it was, and Torrie's eyes became wide as she glanced at Shane and Bryan.
"Who are those guys?" Torrie questioned Emilie. "They are really good looking."
"Westlife," Emilie replied, turning around to smile at them. "I like their new single."
"Oh, is that the one who drove me insane with last week and kept repeating?" Torrie wanted to know, and Emilie nodded slightly. She felt her palms began sweating and her cheeks began burning, as Bryan came closer.
"Hi everyone," Shane smiled at them all. "How are you all doing?"
"Hi!" Torrie flirted. "It's nice to meet you. I love your new single!"
"Thanks," Shane flashed her a smile. "By the way, thanks for letting us join you. Are you sure it's no problem?"
"Not at all," AJ replied, as the hostess led them their table. "The more, the merrier."
"For sure!" Torrie winked at them, and settled back with Shane and Bryan.
Emilie kept a little upset about Torrie's persistence, but she let it go. She knew Torrie was capable of getting any guy she wanted before she even could, so she wasn't even going to worry about anything.
"Hey Em," Amanda told her. "Come here for a minute!"
"Okay," Emilie replied, and she followed Amanda to the washrooms. "What's up? Having fun?"
"Torrie is such a bitch," Amanda complained. "But, I have to tell you something else! Bryan keeps staring at you. Omigoodness! It's so obvious. He looks at you, blushes, and then looks away."
"He's probably looking at someone else," Emilie replied, as Amanda and her entered the washroom. They both checked their make-up, and Amanda took some time to catch the messages on her cell phone. "He's so good looking. Why would he want me?"
"Because you are wonderful Em!" Amanda inspired her. "I think you are sweet and caring. Why wouldn't he want you?"
"I barely know him Amanda," Emilie told her. "We'll see what happens. Probably nothing with my luck."
"Hey, you never know!" Amanda winked at her, as she realized she had only a few messages, and they headed back out to the table. Emilie observed two empty seats. One was beside AJ and Howie, so Amanda went and sat down there and the other was beside Bryan and Nick. Emilie cringed. She was so nervous. She couldn't possibly sit by Bryan through dinner, but she decided that you was probably fate anyway.
"They came to order our drinks," Howie informed Amanda and Emilie as they sat down. "Em, I ordered you a Sprite and Amanda, AJ ordered you a Coke. Is that okay?"
"Sure is!" Emilie replied. "Thanks."
"This menu is gigantic!" Amanda laughed, as she opened it. "What can I possibly have?"
"Nothing too fattening," Torrie replied sweetly. "You don't want to get too fat Amanda."
"Same goes for me I guess Torrie, huh?" Emilie replied. "Since, Amanda is the same size as you and I'm five times bigger. Maybe you should direct your nasty comments at me."
"Emilie, let's not start that shit tonight," Torrie snapped back. "All you ever do is complain about how fat you are and how ugly you are. Just shut up about it or do something about it."
"What exactly I am supposed to do?" Emilie replied.
"Lose weight," Torrie told her. "It's not that hard Emilie."
"Well, I like Emilie just the way she is," Nick told Torrie. "You need to gain some brain cells anyway."
"What are you even talking about Nick? Look at you!" Torrie retorted, giving him a dirty Look. "You aren't exactly a fine catch."
"I think Nick is fine too," Emilie told Torrie. "We are all fine."
"We have guests Emilie and Nick," Torrie glared at them. "Keep your squabbling for later."
"You started it," Amanda told her. "You should be your nasty comments to yourself."
"If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all," Howie commented.
"Emilie needs to lose weight though," Torrie shot back. "I mean, look at her. She's going to die early from a heart attack because all that fat is clogging up her arteries."
"Emilie isn't that heavy," Bryan spoke up, as he looked right to see tears in Emilie's eyes. "I think she's beautiful."
"Thanks Bryan," Emilie smiled at her, and he put a hand on her arm.
"Emilie is beautiful," Torrie told Bryan. "But, she can be even more attractive if she was a little thinner. I'm only saying this for your own benefit Emilie."
"Thanks Torrie," Emilie responded, as she saw AJ and Nick getting ready to say something. "Now, what's everyone having for dinner?"
"I've suddenly lost my appetite," Amanda commented, rolling her eyes, and Torrie stuck her tongue out at her.
"Oh, so mature," AJ muttered. "I think this dinner is ruined."
"I agree," Nick agreed, as Torrie shook her head.
"Fine, I'm sorry guys," Torrie told them. "I'll shut up."
"Finally," Amanda muttered, re-opening her menu.
"So, Emilie, what is your major?" Bryan asked her, smiling widely at her.
Emilie turned to him, and smiled back. For some reason, she found him extremely easy to talk to. "I'm a english literature major right now, but next year I am switching over to education," Emilie replied. "I want to be an elementary school teacher."
"I bet you'd be awesome at that," Bryan complimented her. "I think I'll stick to singing for a while."
"How was it, becoming famous so fast over night?" Emilie wanted to know, as she took a sip of her soda.
"Can I take your order?" the waitress came over, and everyone ordered.
"I'll have a small garden salad," Emilie told the waitress.
"That's it?" the waitress repeated, and Emilie nodded. "Okay! I'll be back folks in a few minutes with your appetizers."
"Emilie, good choice!" Torrie congratulated her. "You are on the right path to weight loss and feeling better about yourself!"
"A small garden salad?" Nick repeated. "Look, that is an appetizer, not a dinner."
"Emilie doesn't have to eat a thousands pounds of McDonalds every day like you Nick," Torrie responded.
"What's wrong with McDonalds?" AJ piped up.
"Here we go again," Amanda muttered, and a few of them shook their heads.
"I don't eat McDonalds," Nick told Torrie. "I exercise every day and I am on a healthy diet. I like myself, and I could care less what you have to say about me."
"Forget you then Nick," Torrie replied, pushing her brown hair out of her eyes. "Emilie doesn't like herself. She is always complaining about her weight and never does anything about it. I think it's about time she did!"
"Are you her conscience?" AJ quizzed her. "I think you don't have the right to make those choices for Emilie."
"Emilie, do you like yourself?" Torrie questioned her, and felt looked at her.
"No, I don't," Emilie replied, as she looked down.
"See? AJ? Nick? She admits it!" Torrie cried, sipping her fruit smoothie. "I think losing some weight will benefit Emilie a lot. She'll have a positive attitude and be able to have more success in her personal relationships. It's so obvious she couldn't keep you Nick because of her weight and then, Drew didn't want her either because she is fat. Bryan, is that your name? I'm sure you wouldn't date Emilie either right now! Am I right?"
"Emilie and I didn't break up because of the way she looks," Nick snapped at Torrie.
"Whatever Nick," Torrie shot back. "Bryan? Am I right?"
"Actually, you are wrong," Bryan told her. "I'm not shallow enough to only want a girl for the way she looks. Besides, Emilie is very attractive and yes, I would date her."
"Suck up," Torrie teased him. "Well, all I am saying is, is that none of you live with us. You don't have to hear her complaining about herself, 24 hours a day. I hate it! I can't take it anymore Emilie!"
"Know what? I'm leaving!" Emilie snapped at Torrie, and bent down got her purse, stood up, and walked quickly out of the restaurant.
"Bye Emilie!" Torrie chirped after her, as she turned to meet glaring eyes. "Oh AJ, don't forget to run after her. You always do anyway."
"Torrie, how about we go over your flaws?" Amanda snapped at her. "First of all, you are the biggest bitch I have ever met. You only know how to ruin a good meal and you tell Emilie she is overweight and she is whatever, and you aren't even all that yourself."
"Who's going after Emilie?" AJ asked them, as he noticed worried expressions on Nick's face, as well as Bryan's.
"I will," Howie piped up. He got up and walked in the direction of Emilie.
"I will too," Nick spoke up, and escaped from the table, shooting daggers at Torrie with his eyes.
"Second of all, you are such a user, an abuser, and a freeloader," Amanda told her. "You are using Emilie for her sweetness and caringness as a friend. You are abusing her emotionally, and you are freeloading off the guys for this free trip."
"Whatever Amanda," Torrie told her. "I don't even know what AJ sees in you."
"I know," AJ snapped back at Torrie. "And you don't need to."
"Why are you so harsh on Emilie?" Bryan asked Torrie. "I think she seems really nice. I don't think she would ever hurt you."
"She's too nice, too sweet," Torrie told Bryan. "She's going to get hurt one day for being so caring."
"But you know she has all these good qualities right?" Bryan replied. "Why would you want to hurt a friend?"
"I only tell her these things for her own benefit," Torrie responded, as Bryan shook his head, and looked over at Shane...
**********************
"Emilie? Are you okay?" Nick asked her, as Howie and him found her sitting outside the restaurant on a bench.
"Yeah," Emilie replied, as Nick sat down beside her, and wrapped his arms around her. "I'll be okay."
"Don't listen to Torrie," Howie told her, sitting on her other side. "She's just jealous of you."
"Everything she says is correct though," Emilie responded. "I do complain about myself 24 hours a day and don't do anything to make myself feel better."
"But that isn't Torrie's position to tell you what to do," Nick reminded her. "You have to make that decision for yourself. You have to want to lose weight, exercise, or whatever you want to do for yourself Emilie. Don't do it because Torrie says so."
"You have to learn to think positive Em," Howie commented. "But, Torrie is negative and she is bringing you down."
"She isn't as bad as Billie," Emilie said. "Anyway, I want to lose weight, but I have no motivation too."
"Em, you aren't that heavy," Nick answered, as he wiped a stray tear off her face. "I think you look fine just the way you are."
"I don't feel fine though," Emilie told them. "I don't like myself at all."
"Well, you have to find the thing that is going to make you like yourself," Nick replied, smiling. "You'll find it Em. But, I love you just the way you are. I think you are perfect and don't need to change one thing about yourself."
"Same here," Howie agreed, and Emilie smiled at them.
"Thanks guys," Emilie told them. "You always make me feel better. I love you guys too."
"Come here Cheese," Nick grabbed her, and pulled her into a huge hug. Howie gave her another big hug, as they looked up to see Bryan standing there.
"I'm sorry to bother you," Bryan told them. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay Emilie."
"Hi Bryan," Emilie smiled at him, as Nick and Howie stood up. "I'm okay thanks. Thanks for coming out here."
"No prob Em," Nick told her, winking. "Howie and I are going to grab some appetizers."
"Okay," Emilie nodded back, smiling, and Howie and Nick headed back into the restaurant. Bryan took beside her, awkwardly, not knowing whether to sit down or remain standing. "Bryan, you can sit down if you would like."
"Thanks," Bryan grinned at her, and he sat down. "Torrie was a bit harsh. I don't see why she is being so mean to you."
"Torrie just says it like it is, I guess," Emilie told him, glancing up at the twinkling stars. "I am to blame as well though. I do always complain about myself and Torrie has a right to be fed up."
"Yeah, but she is your friend," Bryan reminded her. "She should support you, not bring you down."
"This is her odd way of support," Emilie replied. "Torrie came from a family where there wasn't much love given. She said her mother was always criticizing her and her eight younger siblings. She says she never felt she was ever good enough for her parents."
"That is no reason to treat you bad Emilie," Bryan commented, as Emilie looked into his blue eyes.
"Everyone treats me bad Bryan," Emilie told him, standing up. "Except for my family and the guys. All my friends treat me like dirt. I have just given up. I don't need the heartache anymore."
"I wouldn't treat you bad," Bryan commented, smiling at her. He stood up and faced her.
"Why do you even want to waste your time on me?" Emilie quizzed her. "You don't even know me!"
"Because I can just tell what a sweetheart you are," Bryan said. "Actually, I saw your picture the other day, at Trans Con. You were standing in the pic with Nick and the guys at the Grammy Awards last year, and I asked Joey about you."
"Joey Fatone?" Emilie's eyes opened wide. "I hurt him so bad!"
"No you didn't," Bryan said. "Well, not from what he said. He said you were caring, nice, and considerate. So, then I asked the rest of 'N Sync about you and they said other sweet things about you. They said you toured with them last summer and you were always trying to help them and bring them up when they were down."
"They did much more for me, then what I did for them," Emilie replied, facing him. "Didn't Joey tell you I accepted a date with him and then I broke the plans because Nick and I got back together? I was so horrible to him."
"I don't think that's horrible," Bryan assured her. "Joey told me that he thought you were cute, but he said that you still loved Nick a lot. It's only natural you would. I mean, Joey said you were both together for over a year! That's a long time."
"Bryan, I'm not a saint or an angel," Emilie argued. "I just care a lot about everyone. I just wanted to help in any way I could."
"Emilie, I'm not saying you are," Bryan replied. "All I am saying is that I think you are very beautiful. I also believe every ounce of good things that I have heard from several people. I don't think several people would lie, would they?"
"How can you think I'm beautiful?" Emilie asked him. "I certainly am not."
"Yes you are," Bryan told her. "Well, you are beautiful to me. I don't care what others say. I think you are very beautiful."
"Bryan, you can do so much better," Emilie told him. "I'm not worth the time or the energy."
"I'm making you worth my time and my energy, if you'll allow me," Bryan replied. "You must think I'm some freak, asking you out when we barely know each other, but when I saw you, something clicked."
"I don't think you are a freak at all," Emilie smiled at him. "I have to say the same thing when I saw you as well. I think you are a sweetheart for wanting to get to know me better."
"Want to go on a date or something?" Bryan asked. "Nick told me about Drew and I won't ever do that to you."
"That would be nice," Emilie said. "Wait, you don't have a girlfriend?"
"No," Bryan answered. "We broke up a few months ago. We were together for a long time, but things weren't working out. Actually, she cheated on me. I was heartbroken. I couldn't believe someone that I had given so much too, didn't even care."
"I can understand," Emilie replied. "Nick cheated on me. Well, he didn't really cheat on me. He just kissed two other girls, but I was heartbroken. We both decided to end the relationship. Things are so much better now though. I love being his friend."
"You guys are really close," Bryan smiled. "Her and I aren't friends anymore. I'm glad we aren't though. I'm much happier."
"Well Bryan, I would never do that to you," Emilie promised him.
"I know you wouldn't," Bryan smiled. "So, you want to go out tonight after dinner?"
"I would love to, but I have to get out early for the video shoot," Emilie said, pushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. "Are you busy tomorrow?"
"Just some studio time in the afternoon to go over some of our album cuts," Bryan replied. "Can I stop by the video shoot?"
"Sure, that would be awesome," Emilie smiled. "I'm so nervous! I hope I don't fall or something."
"You'll be wonderful," Bryan smiled at her, as he gave her a quick hug. "Now, we'd better get back before our food gets cold."
"Sounds good," Emilie agreed, and she followed him into the restaurant. They walked towards their table to notice that Bryan's hamburger and Emilie's salad had arrived.
"You guys took a while," AJ teased them, as he winked at them. "I just hope your food isn't cold."
"They look fine," Emilie smiled back, as Bryan pulled out her chair, and allowed her to sit down. "Thanks."
"No prob," Bryan winked at her, and he sat down in his chair. "Is everyone enjoying their meals?"
"Sure am!" Nick replied with a full mouth.
"Gross, Carter!" Amanda teased him, but there was laughter dancing in her eyes.
"Em, can we talk after dinner?" Torrie asked her all of a sudden.
"Sure Torrie," Emilie nodded, and Torrie somehow seemed relieved.
"About what?" Nick wanted to know. "Torrie, if you are going to tell Emilie a bunch of shit again, maybe you shouldn't talk."
"Nick!" sang a familiar voice, and he turned to see Mandy standing there. "Hi sweetheart! Hey everyone! What's up?"
"Hi Hun!" Nick stood up to hug her. "What happened to dance rehearsal?"
"It got cancelled," Mandy replied happily. "Now, I can see you! Hey Emilie! Hi Torrie! Hi Shane! Hey Bryan! How are you guys?"
"Hi Mandy," Emilie smiled warmly at her. "Good thanks. How are you?"
"Awesome," Mandy winked back. "You guys enjoying your dinner? It looks delicious. Nick, could I have a fry?"
"Sure," Nick nodded, as he sat down in chair, and Mandy sat on his lap. She took a sip of his root beer and then a few fries. "So, how's everything going with your dances?"
"Excellent," Mandy grinned. "We finally patted down the dance for 'Gotta Have You'."
"Care to demonstrate?" Nick teased her, and Mandy playfully punched him.
"Later Nick, later," she responded in a husky voice, which made everyone laugh.
"Panda, what are you going to give me later?" AJ questioned her, as the waitress began taking their dirty dishes away.
"You'll have to wait and see," Amanda teased him.
"Darn," AJ laughed, and Amanda gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "Anyone up for dessert?"
"No way Man," Howie shook his head. "I'm full. That was great."
"Yeah, it was excellent," Shane agreed, as he sipped his water. "Bryan, we'll have to take the rest of the guys back here before we fly to Dublin."
"Sounds good," Bryan grinned, as he sipped his drink.
"What is everyone doing now?" Mandy wanted to know. "How about the movies?"
"I'm up for it!" Nick agreed. "Brian and LeighAnne are going to see 'Erin Brockovitch', so maybe we could meet them there!"
"Sure, sounds like fun," agreed Mandy. "Any of you guys want to come?"
"No thanks," AJ smiled. "Amanda and I are going to back to our place soon."
"Would you mind if we went shopping for a little while AJ?" Amanda asked and AJ said sure.
"I have to call Dalilia," Howie told them. as he stood up. "I'll see everyone tomorrow."
"Howie, want to take the Jeep?" AJ asked him. "I can go home in a cab with Amanda."
"Yeah sure," Howie said. "Actually, I'll head home, call Dal, and be back in an hour or two to pick you up?"
"Sure!" Amanda agreed with a smile. "Em, why don't Bryan and you go for a walk to get to know each other?"
"Well, if Bryan isn't busy," Emilie responded smiling, and Bryan grinned at her.
"I would love to," Bryan agreed.
"Howie, could you bring me back to AJ's house?" Torrie spoke up. "Em, I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay?"
"Yeah sure," Emilie agreed, as everyone got up. Nick and Mandy headed over to the movies, as he called Brian on his cell phone to see where abouts LeighAnne and him were. Amanda and AJ headed out as well, hand in hand, heading straight into the 'Disney At Home' to check out some stuff in there. Shane waved good night, promised to meet Bryan by Howie's jeep in an hour or so, and headed over to Pleasure Island to meet some of the other band members and check out the Virgin Megastore. Howie headed towards the parking lot with Torrie to take them both home. That left Emilie with Bryan, as they strolled into the twinkling night sky, as they saw some thunderous clouds rolling in.
"It looks like it's going to rain," Bryan commented. "Kind of depressing."
"I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow," Emilie responded, as they dodged some kids running towards them. "Kevin told me today that if it does, they are postponing the video shoot until the next day."
"That's okay though," Bryan winked at her. "Then, you and I can spend the day together."
"Can you be my Prince Charming?" Emilie flirted with him, and Bryan nodded softly. He took his arm, and wrapped it around her.
"I can try to be," Bryan replied smiling. "Em, I really can't begin to understand why Torrie was so mean to you."
"Bryan, I don't know," Emilie replied. "I think she was going to apologize to me actually."
"Em, just don't let her walk all over you," Bryan made her promise. "You're a sweet girl and I don't want to see you hurt."
"Bryan, you care too much about me," Emilie told him. "I'm not worth the effort. Honestly, you should know that could have much better then me."
"Emilie, Hun, you have to stop saying those things," Bryan stopped, turned towards her, and looked straight into her eyes. "I really want to get to know you, but I honestly can't get to know you, if you are always putting yourself down."
"Bryan, I just want you to be happy," Emilie replied, as tears came to her eyes. "I just hope I can make you happy."
"Well, I'm willing to take that risk," Bryan winked at her, as he wiped a tear off her cheek.
"Emilie! Omigod!" shrieked someone, and Emilie turned around to see Marisa standing there with a few of her friends.
"Hi Marisa," Emilie smiled at her.
"You remember me? Wow!" Marisa breathed. "Can I take a picture with you?"
"Sure!" Emilie replied enthusiastically. "This is my friend Bryan. He's in the new group Westlife. You should check them out!"
"Cool," Marisa smiled. "Hi Bryan!"
"Nice to meet you," Bryan smiled at the young girl.
"Can you get in the picture too?" Marisa wanted to know, and Bryan said sure. Marisa stood by Emilie, and Bryan stood by Emilie. He turned his arms and wrapped them around her stomach from behind, and she felt butterflies crawl up her stomach. She loved when a guy gave her a hug like that.
"Smile!" Marisa's friend commented, and the three of them gave a big smile.
After the picture, Marisa gave Emilie a hug, and then they left them alone. She promised to see them at the video shoot tomorrow.
"Wow, the fans know you too?" Bryan looked impressed.
"Yeah," Emilie blushed. "I guess I'm kind of a celebrity as well." Her cell phone began ringing, and she reached for it.
"Emilie?" said her mother into the phone. "Hi! How are you?"
"Good Mom," Emilie replied smiling. "How are you?"
"Just peachy Honey," Mrs. Parker answered. "Where are you? Who are you with?"
"I'm at Downtown Disney with Bryan," Emilie replied.
"Brian? The Brian I know?" Mrs. Parker wanted to know.
"No Mom," Emilie laughed. "I'm with Bryan with a Y. He's from the group Westlife from Ireland."
"Ireland? Which part?" Mrs. Parker asked.
"My mom wants to know which part of Ireland you are from," Emilie told Bryan.
"Oh, we're from Sligo," Bryan winked back.
"Sligo Mom," Emilie answered.
"Oh cool Honey," Mrs. Parker smiled. "Well, I'll let you go. Call me when you get to AJ's house. You are staying there right?"
"Yes Mom," Emilie grinned, and she said good night to her mom.
"Em, for some reason, when I was holding you in the picture, you were really nervous," Bryan told her. "I don't scare you, do I?"
"Actually Bryan, this is going to sound so stupid, but the way you hugged me then, is the way I love to be hugged," Emilie admitted to him, and then she blushed looked down.
"I think that's cute," Bryan smiled. "Now, I know your weak spots."
"What are your weak spots?" Emilie flirted with him.
"I like a girl's beautiful blue eyes and I love smiles," Bryan replied. "But, I love hugs as well."
"You are a sweetheart," Emilie smiled back, as she turned to see Amanda and AJ walking towards them.
"Hello!" Amanda winked at them. "Emilie, can I show you this shirt I want to buy?"
"Um sure!" Emilie replied, as Amanda grabbed her arm and dragged her into the nearest store.
"Hey Man," AJ said to Bryan. "What's up?"
"Nothing much AJ," Bryan replied. "How are you?"
"Just chillin'," replied AJ, as they sat down on the marble rocks near the store. "So, you like Emilie?"
"She's a sweet girl," Bryan replied. "Who wouldn't like her?"
"Yeah, Emilie's a one and only," AJ told him. "I care about her a lot. She is like my little sister. I hate seeing her hurt."
"AJ, I respect how and you all the guys feel about her," Bryan replied. "I will not hurt her. I promise you that."
"That's great," AJ smiled at him. "I'm glad. You don't know how much Nick and I wanted to kick Drew's ass. We held back though because we knew it would hurt Emilie."
"I want kick his ass too," Bryan agreed.
"You barely know her though," AJ told him. "Just don't jump too fast. Emilie's sensitive and she gets hurt easily."
"I respect that AJ," Bryan told him. "I'm not an asshole."
"Good," AJ smiled again, nodding. "You know, Torrie was quite a trip at the table tonight."
"I know," Bryan said. "I don't understand how she can hurt her friend like that."
"Jealousy and envy are two powerful reasons," AJ replied, taking off his sunglasses. "In Torrie's eyes, Emilie has it all. She's friends with us, she has good grades, and she has even had numerous guys after her. She also more beautiful then Torrie."
"Numerous guys?" Bryan looked a little weary.
"Oh, sorry," AJ shook his head. "Just Nick, Joey, Drew, and you now."
"How long did Nick and her date? What exactly happened there anyway?" Bryan asked.
"Nick and her met at a concert about a year and a half ago," AJ explained. "Nick was totally crazy about her and she was about him. They dated for about ten months, when in the summer, Nick kissed this bitch named Sheri. So, they broke up, but Emilie forgave him and they got back together. Then, Eloisa entered the picture and Nick kissed her, and Emilie overheard them talking. They broke up again, but Emilie forgave him, and then they got back together."
"Anything else?" Bryan asked.
"Then, last November, Nick and Emilie broke up in September actually, and Nick started dating Mandy," AJ responded. "So, anyway, Emilie came down to New York for the weekend and she accepts a date with Joey. Well, Nick and her still have feelings for each other, so they get back together. So, Nick and I go to Ottawa with Emilie, and she faints outside our motel room after Nick says he's still in love with Mandy. It turns out the doctor's thought she had cancer, so were in the hospital with her for a few days, and then it wasn't. So, we all went to the Parker house for a few days, Nick got back with Mandy, and Emilie's been single ever since."
"She's been through a lot," Bryan shook her head.
"Yes she has," AJ agreed. "That's why I'm warning you not to get involved with her if you are going to break her heart. She doesn't deserve it or need it."
"I have no intentions of hurting her," Bryan told him. "I can understand how she feels because my ex-girlfriend cheated on me."
"Sorry to hear that man," AJ apologized. "Look, maybe I am being too harsh, but the guys and I care about her a lot."
"I completely understand," Bryan said, as Emilie and Amanda came back to them.
"I decided not to buy it!" Amanda smiled, as she wrapped her arms around AJ. "Em bought a shirt though."
"Cool," AJ kissed her. "Howie's coming now. Bryan, want a ride home?"
"Well, Shane is meeting us there," Bryan replied. "I think we're going to do something now anyway. Em, you sure you don't want to come?"
"I'd better get home Bryan," Emilie responded with a smile. "I had fun tonight though." They approached the parking lot, and saw Howie talking with Shane.
"Me too," Bryan smiled. "Here. I'll give you my cell phone number, so you can call me later if you want."
"Okay," Emilie smiled, as Bryan handed it to her after he wrote it down. "Good night Bryan. Sweet dreams."
"Same to you Hun," Bryan smiled, and he wrapped his arms around her. Emilie cozied up to his strong embrace, and felt butterflies creep through her stomach.
"Good night," Emilie replied. "Night Shane! Nice meeting you!"
"Same to you Em!" Shane waved, as she climbed into the front seat beside Howie. Emilie waved back, as Amanda and AJ climbed in the backseat. Bryan and Shane watched them drive away, and then they headed over to their rented Silver Eclipse.
"Shane, she's awesome," Bryan told her.
"I can tell the feeling is mutual," Shane grinned at him. "She's a cutie."
"She's more than a cutie," Bryan replied. "She's a sweetheart, a caring person, a great listener, and really nice."
"She's beautiful too," Shane said. "I wasn't really understanding why her friend was calling her fat. I don't think she is at all."
"No way," Bryan agreed, as they got into their car. "Em's gorgeous. I'm seeing tomorrow at the video shoot."
"Awesome!" Shane smiled, and they pulled out of the parking lot, and into the Orlando traffic...
