Then and Now Chapter 22 Everyone at the table pretended not to notice Brian and Hannah walk back into the kitchen hand in hand. Brian smiled at Han and pulled her chair out for her. She sat down and smiled as he sat beside her. Nick nudged Lis' elbow. Brian looked at his best friend. "Hey Nick would you and Lis mind if I tagged along on your little getaway?" Nick smirked. "Anyone else planning on crashing our trip? Cuz if everyone's gonna go maybe we should just stay here." Krys laughed. "God its a hormonal Backstreet Boy." AJ picked up his napkin and threw it at her. "its the mountain air I tell ya." Nina shook her head and laughed. "Then AJ must live in the mountains." "Woo hoo!" Krys leaned over and hifived Nina and everyone laughed while AJ just shook his head in disgust. "As I was saying, it ok Frack or are we gonna crash you and Lis' time?" Brian asked looking at Nick. Nick sighed. "Sure crash our time. Don't matter much to us, hey Lis?" Lis nodded. "In fact, the less time alone with Nick the better." she smiled sweetly at Nick who shook his head. "Someone get me a new girlfriend." he whined. "Girlfriend." half the group said in unison, with big smiles on their faces. "Oh god its like camp all over again." Lis said getting up to put her dish in the dishwasher. ~Later that day~ Nick and Brian roamed the local sporting goods store, eyeing tents and sleeping bags while Lis and Han followed them around. Han rolled her eyes as Brian started debating on which sleeping bag would be the warmest. Lis looked at her friend and laughed. "Aren't they most exciting people ever?" Han smirked. "Oh the most exciting! I mean no one is this exciting." Brian stopped midsentence having overheard her comment and gave her a dirty look.Aimee and Ang jogged down the beach. "So you really meant what you said about Brian?" Aimee asked as they finally stopped and sat down in the sand. Ang nodded. "I do, I think it was just that I hadn't seen him in so long I mean the guys were barely back from tour when I left and maybe the thought of him having someone in his life, maybe I felt replaced." "He could never replace his best friend Ang." She sighed. "I know. You didn't feel anything for Nick when he..." "Ang this is Nick we're talking about." she said and they both laughed. Nina sat on the counter while Kevin was busy trying to get stuff ready for that night's barbecue at the guys' cabin. He set the plate of burgers on the counter and looked at her. "What is it?" he asked, smiling at her. "I think we're alone." she whispered with a smile. Kevin looked around. "I think we're alone now, there doesn't seem to be anyone around." he sang pulling her to him. Nina giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck. AJ stopped in the doorway causing Krys to bump into the back of him. "AJ! Why did.." she stopped seeing Kevin and Nina kissing in the kitchen. "I think I see why we stopped." she whispered backing up, AJ nodded and followed her back outside, shutting the door quietly behind them. "You know, they gave me a good idea." AJ raised an eyebrow. "What would that be?" Krys smiled. "Wouldn't you like to know? He took off his sunglasses and looked at his girlfriend. "Do I?" "Depends." she turned around and walked down the steps to the driveway, AJ right behind her. He caught up to her and stepped directly in front of her. "On?" "Feel like swimming?" "You get swimming from kissing?" he asked confused. "Kevin was in his swimming trunks you dope!" she hit his arm playfully. AJ shook his head."Crazy crazy woman." Krys shrugged. "Weird weird freaky boyfriend." "Oh you...your gonna get it now!" he yelled chasing her down the path to the beach. Jenn laid next to Howie in the hammock which was swaying in the breeze. "This trip's been good huh?" he asked, pulling her closer to him. Jenn looked up at him. "Not bad." He made a face. "You aren't enjoying yourself?" "I am, its just nice to be finally be without the group." A smile appeared on his face. "Very nice." "So any ideas what we could do without the rest of the gang?" she asked innocently.
