Then and Now Chapter 26 Hannah rolled over in bed but stayed sound asleep, unaware of the prescence of someone beside her bed. Brian shook his head and looked down at her. "Man, I hate to do this..." he said taking some ice out of his glass and placing them on her back. She laid perfectly still for a moment as her senses realized there was something wet and cold on her back. "AHHHHHH!" she yelled, sitting up, trying to brush away whatever it was on her back. Brian stood there laughing and Han looked over noticing him for the first time. "You!!! What the heck are you doing here this early?" "Well see, its almost seven in the morning now and we want to be gone by eight so for that to happen you need to be awake and dressed." Han picked up her pillow and threw it at her boyfriend. "Fine, fine now get out so I can get dressed." Brian blocked the flying pillow with his hands. "Hey I can't get out till Nick wakes up his girl."Nick sat beside a sleeping Lisa on the bed. "Wakey wakey." he whispered in her ear. In her sleep Lis pushed him away, nearly shoving him to the floor. "Sheesh she's strong." Nick muttered rubbing his shoulder. "Tae bo." Lis mumbled, stuffing her head under the pillow. Nick raised an eyebrow. "Ok thats it Lissy, you can answer questions you can get out of bed." he said as he lifted the pillow off her head. "Nicky its too early." she whined, covering her eyes with her hands. "I could always dress you if you wanted me too." he suggested a grin appearing on his face. "Don't you dare!" Lis said sitting up in bed. "I knew that would work. Come on Rok, might as well grab something to eat and let the ladies get clothed." Rok nodded and followed his friend out of the room while both girls just looked at each other and shook their heads in disgust. "AJ McLean, what the heck are you wearing?" Krys asked as AJ walked into the kitchen. He looked down at his tank top and cargo shorts and hiking boots. "What?" "That is not hiking clothes! You need like long pants, a tshirt underneath a long sleeved shirt, a hat...man your walking mosquito bait!" she said shaking her head. AJ sighed and looked his girlfriend over, she was dressed exactly like she described what he should be wearing, a packed backpack at her feet. "Fine, I'll go change." he said turning back up the stairs. Jenn walked downstairs in her bathrobe with Aimee and Ang right behind her. They all stopped and stared at the scene int he kitchen, Brian and Nick cooking breakfast. "Ok everyone stay put, apparently aliens have abducted my best friend and his pal there." Aimee said, looking in shock at her friends. "Ha ha ha. Good morning to you too Aims." Nick said sarcastically, setting down a plate of food on the table. "Uh what exactly is going on here?" Jenn asked, watching the table being set. "Well since we're going and the girls still haven't come down yet." Brian paused and glanced at the back stairs, "We thought we'd make breakfast for everyone." Ang pushed past them. "Well I think its very sweet of you. And if its actually edible, I'll be very glad you guys cooked." she said taking her seat at the table. "Trust me, its edible." Brian said, motioning for the other two girls to sit down. Jenn and Aimee exchanged looks and carefully sat down and stared at the food on the plates. "Well it doesn't look to bad I guess." Jenn said picking up her fork, "Remember if something happens after I eat this, tell D I loved him." Nick rolled his eyes. "Just eat all ready." AJ walked back down into the guys kitchen to find Nina and Kevin sitting at the table with Krys having coffee. Kevin looked up as his friend sat down. "There ya go, hiking gear." AJ shook his head. "Not you too! So does this meet with your approval oh great master of hiking?" Krys laughed. "Yeah its better, if you really wanted to be a walking mosquito bite then hey go with the tank top and shorts." "So where are you two heading?" Nina asked, leaning against Kev's shoulder. "Brian mentioned a really good path that goes north of here and meets up with the lake a few miles away, I thought we'd lunch there, swim and then head back." "I think I know the path, its really nice. Good view of the lake." Kevin stated, getting up. "Anyways, we're heading into town to get groceries and spend some time alone so we'll see you two when we get back." "Yeah have fun guys." Krys said and waved as they walked out the patio doors. She turned her attention to Bone then, "Well if your bag is packed, I've got lunch and the drinks in mine we should go." AJ stood up. "Then my lady, I believe our adventure is about to begin." He said as he put his sunglasses on. Hannah walked into the kitchen followed closely by Lis, both carrying backpacks. "Finally!" Brian exclaimed. "Its 7:45 we're not late." Lis stated, setting her backpack down near the door. "Not late?" Nick asked, staring at her wide eyed.. "You want to leave at 8, we have fifteen minutes trust me I think we can eat in that much time." Hannah laughed. "Yeah nick, its not like we're on a set schedule. I don't think the raccoon is going to go 'you know those two Backstreet Boys and their two female friends should have been by that tree stump twenty minutes ago." Jenn, Aimee and Ang all cracked up laughing. "She's got a point you know Frack." Aimee said, trying to keep herself from spilling her juice as she laughed. Brian and Nick just shook their heads. "You know, I'm almost tempted to go without you two." Brian said, leaning back in his chair. "Hey don't let us stop ya!" Lis said with a smile. "Nuh uh, the punishment for your sarcasm is camping with us!" Nick said, pulling her out of the chair. "You can eat toast on the way, come on!" Lis looked at the table. "But pancakes...bacon..." "Can wait till we come back in three days." Brian said, handing each girl her backpack. "Men!" Han said under her breath and Lis nodded her agreement. "What was that?" Brian asked sweetly. "Nothing...lets go." Han answered, walking past the guys and outside into the back, Lis grabbed her hat from the bench and followed her with the guys behind. "Have fun!" Jenn yelled as the door shut. "I bet five bucks Han and Lis come back tomorrow." Ang said with a smile. "Your on! I say they won't make it the full three days." Aimee replied. "Have some faith you two." Jenn said, filling her plate with some more breakfast. "Faith? Those two girls are camping with Nick and Brian, I doubt those boys have seen a tent assembled in a store let alone put one together themselves." Ang said looking across the table at her friend.
