Then and Now Chapter 48 Lis sat on Nick's bed watching his method of unpacking: tossing all his clothes on the bed and sorting them into clean, still kinda clean and laundry. "Couldn't you have done that like say before we left?" Nick looked up, "Where's the fun in that?" "Forgive me I forgot about you and the funness quotient." "Quotient? Lissy don't use big words which remind me of school." He frowned, "Ick ick ick." "How much longer you gonna be?" she whined, her stomach was going to start rumbling soon. "Till I sort these things." "I know! Classify them all as dirty and we can eat! Please Nicky I beg you!" she said kneeling on his bed. He raised an eyebrow. "You're begging me?" he grinned, "This could have some possibilities missy."AJ set his tray down and sat down across from Krys at their usual booth in McD's. "You couldn't have held out two hours?" Krys asked, munching on a couple fries. "Hey you're eating too." he said, unwrapping his quarter pounder and smiling. "Ah home sweet home!" he stated, taking a bite of his burger. "Sadly for you this is like your home." she teased, and ignored the angry look AJ shot in her direction. "I'm just teasing Bone." "Yeah yeah I know." he grumbled, "Now let a man eat in peace." "Brian? B?" Han called as she walked into his room. The room was empty but the door to the bathroom was closed and she could faintly hear him singing. A grin appeared on her face as she neared the door and stood there listening to him singing. Brian wrapped a towel around his waist and one around his shoulders to dry his hair with and opened the door, heading back into the bedroom to get dressed. He kept singing 'Thats The Way I Like It' as he headed over to his suitcase and started to pull out a fresh set of clothes. Han stood there frozen, unable to move or say anything for fear of startling Bri and causing him to loose the grip on his towel. Shirt...check, boxers...check...shorts...check, Brian said to himself as he picked up the clothes he had on the bed and turned around to head back into the bathroom to shave and change when he saw Han standing there. "Ahhhh!" he screamed startled, dropping everything in his hands. Han spun around covering her eyes, "Sorry B, I just came in to see you...I mean to see if you were ready to eat." she sighed deeply. Brian looked down at the clothes sprawled on the floor, "I will be in five. How long have you been in here?" he asked, gathering his clothes. "A little while, not a really long time..." she stared at the wall, that was a really nice framed poster of the New York skyline she decided as she looked at it, may have to ask Jane where she'd bought it. Brian tapped her shoulder, "Han, turn around." She shook her head, "No I can't sorry. I'm too embarassed." "Why?" "Brian your naked!" He laughed, "Hannah turn around." "Nope, sorry not going to do it." "Hannah!" She shook her head. "All right." he moved and stepped in front of her. "Hey there Han." Han groaned, "Bri! Just go get dressed." "But why? I mean walking around like this is kinda fun...see I have my nice Kentucky wildcats boxers on." he grinned at her. "You what?!?!?" she yelled. Brian looked down, "Yep my favorite pair...see." he laughed. "I swear I'm gonna kill you for this!" she said walking over to the bed and sitting down. "No you won't, you love me too much." he laughed as he grabbed his clothes and headed into the bathroom to shave. Howie opened his closet, "A whole closet full of clean clothes!" he said with a smile. Jenn sat on his bed and laughed, "Your funny D." He turned around and looked at her, "Your not sick of the same clothes?" She shrugged, "Its not a bad thing." "I can only live in five shirts for so long." he lamented, and began going through his clothes. Jenn rolled her eyes, "Well you do whatever, bond with your wardrobe...I'm going to run home and get myself ready. I'll pick you up on the way." "All right," he agreed not turning around. Jenn shook her head to keep from laughing and headed downstairs. Hannah ran downstairs with Brian close behind and into the kitchen finding Nick and Lis sitting at the table fighting over the pizza order. "Man you are so immature." Nick remarked to Brian as the new arrivals took a seat at the table. Han laughed, "Hey we heard everything that went on up in your room." She said with a smile which caused Nick and Lis to go back to flipping through the take out and delivery menus. Kevin unlocked the door to his house and stepped inside, a smile on his face. "Home sweet home." Nina laughed as she followed him inside, "Ten bucks says that was AJ's reaction to setting foot in McD's." Kevin laughed, "You're probably right. Gotta ask Krys when we see her later." "Will do.." Nina set her back on the floor. "I think we've got an hour." He smiled, "Good an hour without the rowdy ones." Nick set the pizzas down and looked at Bri, "Are you as unbelieving as I am that their leaving in a week?" he asked as he looked out to where the girls were putting plates and glasses out on the deck. Brian nodded his agreement. "It doesn't seem right Nick, the summer's gone so fast..." "And you just know this week will go faster." he sighed. "Soon we'll be at the airport saying goodbye." Brian stated, leaning against the counter. "But there's nothing we can do to stop it." Han turned the radio up, "I hate that we have to leave in a week." "Me too. I mean I really don't want to leave Nick." Lis sighed, and set the last glass down. "At least at the start of the summer I was miserable and had Boyd to go home to...but now.." "We're leaving them behind." Han said looking at the patio doors. "And going home to no one. Face it, this sucks." Lis sat down, "Big time sucks. And there's no way a long distance deal will work. Welcome to the beginning of the end." Next: Chapter 49 |
