Chapter 3

As quickly as the new colors had come, they disappeared. I can't say the sight didn't put me in awe. Believe me it did! The golden clouds against the lavender sky looked heavenly and created a peaceful feeling I had never known. Those few seconds all the misery I felt through out my body disappeared and I was at peace.

I snapped out of my daze and stared at the blue sky, yearning it to be purple again. Wishing, needing that peace in my soul. What ever feeling it was that started me on this new journey had been tripled since I left my house. Every bone in my body was reaching for something unknown to me. The secret my soul kept at it's very core.

Mindlessly, I continued on my way. I thought a lot about my friends and my family's reactions as my subconscious navigated my route. I could see the shock, the pain, the anger, and the worry clear on every one's faces. Yet never did I once doubt what I was doing.

In time, my feet grew tired and my legs began to ache. I stopped and sat on a bench near by. I was pretty successful in getting away from my house, and my world. I was at least a couple of towns over. Maybe more. I honestly really didn't know.

The hot, depressingly bright sun was now fading from sight as the near full moon took its place in the sky. The stars peeked out from their hiding places, and began filling the midnight blue blanket. A warm breeze gently caressed my face, then was gone.

I calmed my self and stood up. Somehow I was sure this was the right thing to be doing. Walking along side the rode, I stuck out my thumb hoping to catch a ride. I understood the dangers quite well since my friend had been raped while hitch hiking. I figured I was crazy anyway, why not?
