This story is based on a practical joke that took place back in the 1980’s at a collage in England. There were 5 students wearing white coats and had clipboards, they closed the main doors of the main building and said there has been a chemical spill and we need the find out who has been exposed to it. Can everyone take off one shoe and put it in this bag and can you all please keep wearing the other shoe, so we can test the sole of this shoe and if you have stood in the chemical we can find you quickly, because all we need to do is match footwear.
They got everyone to line up in two rows one for men and the other women, they collected all of the single shoes and took them into a side room, after about half an hour people were getting a bit restless and all were limping around minus one shoe. Just then one of the teachers came in the front door and seeing every one minis one shoe said what is going on here, one of the women told her and she said where are they and she pointed to the side door, so the teacher walked over and opened the door and there was nobody in there. But on the blackboard was a messaged that said April Fools Day and an empty bag on the desk. There was no sign of the missing footwear and everyone had to carry on wearing only one shoe for the rest of the day.
The ones behind it were never found and all the odd shoes were never found ether, everyone talked about it for weeks afterwards. It must have been a very nice sight, seeing about 30 peoples all missing a shoe.
