Aligning Text

Alignment tags can be added to the <p> tag to align the text in a paragraph to the left, right or center.

<p align=left> aligns a paragraph to the left
<p align=right> aligns a paragraph to the right
<p align=center> centers a paragraph

So if you were to write this in your HTML doc:

<p align=left>I took a chance and purchased
a humming bird feeder this year.  I NEVER
thought I would see an actual humming bird, 
but I took the time and care to hang it just 
right on my deck. I could see it from my kitchen
window and I waited every day.  

<p align=center>As I was sitting on my deck one
early evening I looked up and saw the most
beautiful humming bird! I sat there
astonished and waited, within 15 minutes
TWO more came!

<p align=right>I now have two very happy humming birds
that visit me every day.  Much to my<i>surprise</i> 
they don't seem to be afraid of me.  They even fly
around when I am standing very close to the feeder! 

Your page would appear like this:

Of course, you can use paragraph tags for text that's shorter than a full paragraph. For example, you may want to center some words, like so:

<p align=center>What goes
<p align=center>around,
<p align=center>comes around.

They'll appear like this:

What goes

around,

comes around.
