| I first got into anime through my love of dragons. When I discovered Asian dragons (I did my senior thesis on that) I was enamored by the Japanese culture. At first I only knew of mainstream animes such as Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon, but I still searched for more anime to watch. It wasn't until I got into the Navy did I become introduced to the many facets of anime. It was in January of 2001 that I bought my first subtitled anime, the first tape to the Fushigi Yuugi OVAs. With those three episodes I was hooked and left in tears. It didn't matter that the characters were unknown to me. The romantic and powerful storyline compelled me to go back and purchase the original TV series and the rest of the OVAs. The internet also provided me with more information to my hungry mind. It was on such one surfing incident, near the end of March of that same year, I discovered yaoi and fanfiction. At first I was appalled that anyone would pair two men together, let alone Tasuki and Chichiri. However, my curiousity got the beter of me and I read my first two fanfics: Borderline by Chichiri No Da and Mizu Kagami by Miko No Da. Now I am a favorite authoress online. and I don't regret a single word I've written or line I've drawn. Recently, I've been introducted to the wonderful world of anime conventions and Cosplay. Now while I've dressed up as Chichiri for Halloween before, this is on a whole new level. I plan on having con reports/costume galleries put up on my site to show off the characters I have cosplayed as or plan to in the near future. |
