Back again with the next part. I'm going
pretty fast with this one, ne? Anyway, that's
a good thing, right? OK, well, I hope this
part is good, right now I'm thinking about
how to start it. I had it all planned out
this morning. I hate it when I forget what
I was thinking about! Ain't it always the
way? Oh well, I guess any beginning would
be better than my ramblings.
Soulmate
Part six
__________________________________________________________________
Kodachi crouched in the bushes like a lion
waiting to pounce on it's prey. The rumors
circulating around the schools couldn't be true,
and if they were, she vowed to make them untrue.
Ranma could not have a new girlfriend. Heck, he
had enough already, and now there was one more
for Kodachi to deal with. One more to kill. This
guy collected girlfriends like...um, like things
that collect things. Yeah, that's it.
Kodachi smiled as she saw Ranma and a girl
walk up the driveway. Cool, angry jealousy was
slowly creeping into her veins until all she saw
was green. That girl was going to die, then Ranma
would be hers. Oh yes, Ranma would definitely be
hers.

"So how was your first day?" Ranma
asked Usagi as they turned into the
driveway of the Tendo house. "Do you
like my school okay?"
"It's just like any other school,"
she countered.
"Right. Hey, I meant to ask earlier.
What's the gym bag for? You don't even
take P.E."
"Change of clothes. You know, just
in case."
"Oh, right. That's smart."
To their side, the bushes began to
shake violently, then Kodachi jumped
out, ribbon ready for battle.
"I challenge you!" She yelled,
looking directly at Usagi.
"Me? Why?"
"You are Ranma's newest girl, are
you not?"
"Whaat?" Usagi felt her cheeks warming
up. "No." She turned to face Ranma. "Ranma,
who's this?"
"Uh..one of my fiancees," he muttered,
scratching the back of his head.
"One? How many do you have?"
"Um..well...Let's just say a lot."
"What, you can't count that high?" she
taunted, taking a fighting stance. "Sheesh,
my second day here and I'm already getting
into a fight."
"You're in Nermia," Ranma shrugged.
"Get used to it."
"Enough talk." Kodachi said. "We fight.
The winner gets Ranma."
"Why don't you just let Ranma decide
for himself?"
Kodachi laughed. "Men don't know what
they want. If choices were left to them,
we'd still be living in the Ice Age."
"I agree." Usagi laughed, jumping up
into a kick while at the same time dodging
the ribbon. "But why set your sights on
Ranma? I bet you can do better than that."
Kodachi stumbled from the kick. "Really?"
"Yeah, hey, I'll give you my number
and we can go to the mall sometime and go
guy-shopping."
"Sounds good." Kodachi flung her razor
hoop, which was dodged. Ranma sweatdropped
while at the same time feeling hurt that
Usagi had said there were guys better then
him out there.
"You wanna stop fighting now? We can
have more fun guy-shopping if we aren't
enemies." Usagi said, flipping over Kodachi.
"Ok."
And just like that the fight was over.
Usagi got a piece of paper from her backpack
and wrote her number on it then handed it to
the other girl. "We can go Friday after school,
ok?"
"Sure." Kodachi turned and began to
walk away. "See you."
"Bye."
"You invited her shopping???" Ranma
demanded when the slightly (Yeah, right, more
like extremely) crazy girl was out of earshot.
"Yup. That's the way a girl's mind works.
You should learn that. Hey, you're down by one
girlfriend now. That's a good thing, so don't
complain about my style."
Ranma mumbled something ineligible as the
two made their way to the back of the house.
If that was Usagi's style...well he couldn't
imagine her inviting Shampoo or Ukyo shopping.
That would be a nightmare, but if anyone could
do it, she could.
"Hi, everyone!" Usagi called happily.
Akane, Ryoga, Kasumi, and the giant panda
that was Ranma's dad were sitting at a table
on the back porch.
"What was all that noise I heard?" Kasumi
asked.
"Ah, I just got rid of one of Ranma's
fiancees. No big deal." Usagi sat down.
"Really? Now you only have two left."
Akane said, happy for him.
Ryoga frowned and began to count on his
fingers. One plus one plus one was still
three. "Uh, two?"
"Akane and I broke up this morning."
Ranma said carelessly. "She likes some
other guy."
"Shut up!" Akane demanded.
"Some...other..." Ryoga felt his heart
breaking.
"Yeah," Ranma said, looking directly at
the friend he'd never admit to liking. "She
likes him a lot."
"Ranma!" Akane protested, face turning
red.
With tears in his eyes Ryoga got up and
began to walk away. "Farewell."
"Ok, is it just me, or did he totally
not get the hint?" Usagi asked as soon as
he'd gone. "It is so obvious that he's the
one you like, Akane."
"Well, Ryoga's an idiot." Ranma said,
leaning back in his seat. Akane pushed him
off and onto the ground.
"Don't talk about him that way!"
"Oh!" Kasumi jumped up. "I have water
boiling for tea and dinner to make."
Genma scribbled a sign. {I'll get the
tea.} His big panda bulk stood up and walked
off with the girl to the kitchen. There was
an awkward silence at the table until he
came back with a kettle full of hot water.
Ranma picked himself off the ground and
picked out the tea packet he wanted. Out of
the corner of his eye he saw a black pig
approach.
