1st Eaglescliffe Rainbows opened in January 1997 and has maintained a membership of fifteen 5-7 year olds ever since. The unit has close links with its sister Brownie pack and joint events such as Christmas parties and pantomime visits, Thinking Day celebrations, summer barbecues and Bonfire Night get-togethers are organised annually. In 1999 the unit hosted the Division Rainbow Regalia which 45 Rainbows attended. Crafts, songs, games and food centred on the theme of 'Noah's Ark'.
