Superior 4Wheel Drive was recommended to me in 2002 by one of his customers. At that time I was looking for a shop to do a solid axle conversion on my Toyota Tacoma. This conversion is an involved process as the steering needs to be converted from rack and pinion to cross-over. I contacted two other well known shops, one of which specalized in Toyotas, neither could promise good results. Superior 4 Wheel Drive promised and delivered great results. While test driving the SAS, Troy noticed the truck was pulling hard to the right. Troy disassembled the rear brakes, which had recently been serviced by another shop. Troy discovered the drums were coated in grease. Troy quickly repaired the brakes. The rear axle has since been replaced with a Dana 60 after I broke it on Fordyce Trail.

Troy also noticed that parts were missing from the Trans-4-mer grille guard/winch mount. 4 Wheel parts forgot to install two support pieces that install under the winch cradle. Troy ordered and installed the missing parts, at 4 Wheel Parts expence. Another person's mistake that Troy fixed.

When I took the first drive, I noticed the power steering was cutting out. Troy said he would look into it. I was on my third power steeing pump at the time, and Troy discovered a switch on the pump that had not been replaced. Troy replaced it, and absorbed the $50 cost of the part and did not chage my for labor. This part failure had nothing to do with his work.

Shortly after the SAS, I ordered new rear leaf springs from National Spring. The springs that they eventualy sent me were too long. Troy relocated my rear spring hangers to accomidate the longer springs. Another instance of Troy correcting someone else's mistake.

I also installed a Marlin dual transfer case after the SAS. Marlin did a good job on the install, but did not provide a new transmission cross-member. This is needed to clear the drive shaft. Troy custom built a cross-member that has held up for the last several years and clears the drive shaft.

I broke my rear axle on Fordyce Trail in 2003 during Sierra Trek. I requested that Troy build a Dana 60 axle to replace the stock Toyota 8" axle. Troy built me a D60 with cromoly shafts, disk brakes, ARB locker, and 4:10 gears. Troy also used the 1310 driveshaft rear u-joint as a designated weak point so that the driveshaft u-joint will break before of the R&P. This is an easy trail repair.

Troy has also done brake jobs on my Dodge Ram and my wife's Toyota 4Runner. Excellent work done for half the the price the dealer wanted.

I plan to have Troy build a lateral traction bar in the near future.
