Spirit and Kelda's Thoughts on Mainstream Religions |
Spirit Before we jump into the relgions that live in the 'norm' of society, we need to address what spirit is. Why?, you ask; without spirit, we have no need for any sort of religion. Let me explain.... Spirit is action of the soul, driving us to connect ourselves with the divine. It's the soul's voice, hearing, smell and touch. A tool for connecting the soul to our physical, earthly body. Without the tool that is our spirit, we would have no interaction with our soul. Not having spirit would most certainly make religion and faith very irrelevant. Our minds would be more computer like machines than a great works of biological magic. Spirit also enables us to quest for our proverbial Holy Grail. It leads us down our religious path to seek out our soul, our faith and our own personal divinity. It helps bring us peace with-in ourself by putting us in touch with our higher self- a self built on pure love and empathy. It is the greatest gift of the soul bestowed to us on our short time on Earth. It allows us to make use of the time we have here in a positive manner. No matter what path you walk, spirit is your guide. |
Mainstream Religions It is human nature to seek out a group to validate our beliefs and mirror image ourselves. Humans are pack animals for reasons of mere survival. Our relgion refelcts that. Economy and cultures are becoming more intertwined and our packs are co-existing more peacefully than ever. Isn't it time our religoin reflects this new aspect of modern survival? Very few people on this earth subscribe to thier own unique religion. We join others and start organized sects of religions. We have heiarchies and rules attached to our belief systems. Structure and order of our spirit and faith prevail. And, of course, punishment for those who believe differently and feel constrained by the rules of mass religion. Religious loners and heretics are outcasted or persecuted. And even the outcasts seem to flock together to validate each other. All just a means for survival. Then there are religious wars. All major relgions have warred against one another and this modern age has had it's share. Religion has not made any major advancements in eons, despite the many prophets. Each religion has had prophets; Prophets acting as an outside force for human spirit misguided by worldly temptations. Essentially all have had (and still do) the same message: peace, tolerance, love, empathy and many woes for those that do not add positive forces to the world. Only the languages and ways of conveying the message were different. This is/was due to the geographical and cultural differences around the world. For example: Buddah would not be effective in the middle east. Jesus would have been sorely out of place in the Americas. Mohhamed in the Far East would be absurd. The main impediment mainstream religion is intolerance. We, as residents of this planet, need to say to one another 'you have your way and I have mine. That's just fine'. And if we do this in a spiritual manner, we may find that our religious packs are very similar, sharing the same goal. |
