Chapter 65: Europe, Get Ready for Elegance! A week later: London “God I missed you!” “Bianca, you’re so tan!” “You look so great!” “I couldn’t wait to see you all!” “It’s so nice to be back together!” The girls had gathered in the Lauralee’s hotel room after they had arrived. They all flew out from their locations to meet, and all were excited to be in London. It was back to work, and although they were vacationing, they were eagerly awaiting to start working again. “How’s Florida life girls?” Veronica asked. “Wonderful,” Laura smiled. “The house looks so good. I can’t wait for y’all to see it,” Lauralee winked. “Well, look at you two. You could be the Hawaiian Tropic spokesmodels,” Elizabeth nodded towards the tanned Bianca and Veronica. “Hawaii was beautiful, I didn’t want to leave,” Bianca swooned. “And Cancun was awesome,” Veronica smiled. “The police didn’t remember you?” Laura snorted. “I think I saw our posters in some little police station,” Veronica retorted, remembering Spring Break when Lauralee, Veronica, and Laura went down a few years ago. “How about you Liz?” Bianca asked. “Well, Brian’s family was so sweet, and I got to ride a horse bareback for the first time.” “Sounds like you had fun,” Lauralee smiled. Riley came in with Mario. “Looks like you all are rested.” “Definitely,” Veronica said. “Good, ‘cause you’ll need it,” Mario said. “Why?” “Look out the window.” The girls ran to the window. “Holy shit!” Bianca exclaimed. “There’s tons of people down there!” Lauralee screamed. “How did they know where we were?” “The Internet is a very interesting thing,” Riley sighed. “We hired some extra security, and you ladies are leaving through the back with a closed van.” ~*~ “Alex, you should’ve seen it! There were tons of people outside! We can’t even leave the hotel,” Lauralee leaned against the bed. “Price you pay babe. Long day?” “Two television shows, a radio show, a photo shoot, and contest winners. Touring was nothing like this.” “I told you the fans there are wilder,” Alex said and paused. “The bed is empty.” “I know, I miss you too.” “I’m leaving for LA tomorrow to do the video shoot. Looks like it’ll be one of our best ever.” “That’s great honey.” “Hope so,” Alex yawned. “I better go baby. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” “OK. Bye.” “Bye.” Lauralee snuggled under the covers and drifted off to sleep. ~*~ 2 ˝ weeks later: Berlin, Germany The girls were in the green room at Viva studios, after an hour-long special featuring them. They sat around the room, waiting for their guards to come in, when Riley came in instead. “Went real good girls. Real good.” “Thanks Riles,” Bianca smiled. “Just got a call that I think you be excited about.” “And that is?” Elizabeth asked. “Got a call from Sony Music. The Grammy nominations were announced this morning in New York, and you ladies were nominated for 5 awards.” “Oh my God!” Lauralee screamed. The girls all gave each other a hug. “What for?” “Song of the Year: ‘The Roof,’ Album of the Year, Best R & B album, Best New Artist, and Best Group.” “That’s so great!” Bianca covered her mouth. “And looks like you’re in competition with Backstreet for Song of the Year and Album of the Year.” “Shut up!” Veronica laughed. “I remember going with them last year as escorts, now we’ll be there as nominees!” “Looks like you’re in the big time ladies,” Riley smiled. “I’m so proud of you.” “Thank you,” Laura gave him a hug. Lauralee’s cell phone rang as she went to answer it. “Hello?” “Hoping y’all are ready for some competition,” Alex said. “Oh yeah baby, bring it on,” Lauralee laughed. “Congratulations.” “Same to you.” “Best New Artist I think you got, but I think we got the other two.” “Says who?” “Says me.” “Let’s wait until February.” “You got it. Love ya.” “Love ya too. Bye.” “Looks like we got a little competition happening girls,” Lauralee hung up her cell phone. “We’ll see who wins out,” Laura gave an evil grin. “I predict an Elegant night,” Elizabeth rubbed her hands together.
