Interlude: Prom Time “Where’s the shoes?” “Here they are. Where’s the bag?” “Bianca don’t move! I’m not done with your lipstick!” “Got the shoes, but where’s her pantyhose?” The girls were all in Bianca’s bedroom, running around in a scramble to get everything together. Since Bianca was still in high school, her senior prom was coming up, and the girls had all convinced Tommy to give them the day off to get her ready. Even though they were all getting ready for the album, they also did realized that Bianca was still a high school student, and no one was going to stop her from missing out on her prom. Nick was thrilled because his schedule allowed him to take her, plus he never got to go to his own. Lauralee just finished Bianca’s make-up and stood back. “All done!” “OK, now the dress,” Laura took it off the hanger and gave it to her. “We’ll be waiting downstairs.” ~*~ The girls and Bianca’s parents all waited in the living room when they heard a knock on the door. Bianca’s father, Paul, answered the door. There stood Nick, clad in a tuxedo, holding a corsage, along with the boys. Paul shook Nick’s hand and led them inside. “Wow,” Lauralee said. “You look awesome.” “Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve ever wore one of these things,” Nick tugged at his collar. “Well, you look amazing nonetheless,” Bianca’s mother, Emily, said. “Bianca! Nick is here!” “Coming Mom!” Bianca walked down the stairs and everyone held their breaths. Bianca was wearing a long black dress with spaghetti straps, her brown hair was done up in a French twist, and she had on diamond earrings with a matching pendant. Nick came up to her and kissed her on the cheek. “You look… you look… wow.” Bianca smiled. “Thank you.” Alex had to elbow him slightly to stop him from staring. “Oh… this is for you,” he gave her a red rose corsage. “Oh, it’s beautiful,” Bianca breathed. After Bianca’s parents took the usual photos, which was about two dozen, they walked out where Marcus was standing with the limousine. He was going to be there, standing in the background of course. “You guys have a good time,” Howie called after them as they got into the limousine. Bianca rolled down the window. “We will!” “Have fun!” Alex waved as the limousine rolled away. “She looked gorgeous,” Brian said. “Yeah, not the girl wearing sweatpants from a year ago right?” Elizabeth agreed. “Or the girl who would come over my aunt’s house begging me to play basketball,” said Lauralee. “Even Nick looked… adult,” sighed Kevin. “Guys, our little babies are growing up,” Laura wiped away a fake tear.
