My Sunscreen                                 Think back to the song... to the graduates of... life! OK, OK, I got some stuff on my mind, and I never keep things inside so I might as well get them off my chest.  You may agree or disagree, but hey, it’s my page, so just deal with it! I am sick of people being ashamed of what music they like. I hate when older fans or even younger fans put on a sheepish grin when they say “Backstreet Boys,” “N Sync,” or when they say “I like their music, but I’m not obsessed or anything.”  Hey it’s OK to like something.  You have the choice to like or not like anything you want to… it’s called FREE WILL people!  So, I say, if you’re 16 or 76, say what you like with pride, be it music or walking around your house naked… STOP THE MADNESS AND BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE! Online cliques… It’s bad enough that we have them in person when we walk around and see a group that we know we can’t belong to, but to have them online is the worst kind.  Online, you’re not a face; we don’t know who people are behind those computer screens.  All we see are their words on screen.  Hello!  Why do I have to feel superior because of a story I write, or a web site I build?  I don’t.  There are some that read better than write, or some that aren’t as computer literate.  I respect all people… actually I respect you who are reading this because you actually care what I think.  I don’t need to belong to an elite group of people to make me feel important.  I know who I am; I know what I feel.  So, if you are one of these people, stop feeling like you are so damn better than everyone else is, because you know what?  REALITY CHECK!  You aren’t!   The online “believers”… Don’t you know people can lie so easily online?  All they have to do is type something, and people are so gullible enough to believe it.  Trust me on this, a lot of people aren’t what they seem.  We live in a scary time, in which it is difficult to trust.  So, if you are looking for a romance online, or even a friend and are considering meeting them, be sure you check them out… better yet, just don’t meet them, it’s too much trouble and most of the time, people meet and never look back again.  Keep the friendship where it was created, over the computer. Guestbooks and feedback… Come on guys, I love fanfic, after all I write it myself.  Please take the time… even 2 minutes, and drop someone a line.  Tell them you love it, hate it, confused by it, whatever!  I always e-mail a webmaster/mistress and tell them what I think… they deserve the response because they are putting this out for your entertainment as well as theirs.  If you don’t want to e-mail because you feel embarrassed by it, sign their guestbook anonymously, you don’t have to put an e-mail address, and I know that they will love the comments you post. The rivalry… OK we all know the big rivalry with N Sync and Backstreet… but why fuel it?  It really pisses me off when I go into a chat room and all I see are “Backstreet sucks!”  God, don’t you have a life?  Wow, what better way to spend an evening than to go into a chat room and say these things.  Jesus, I can at least give you 50 things to do better with your time.  You’re an N Sync fan, fine, then go into the N Sync chat room, chat about Britney and Justin’s latest sexual escapade.  Why even bother with the opposite fans?  And another thing, if you are one of those who like to argue with these morons… you’re giving them what they want!  They want you defend them!  Most chat rooms have an ignore button, use it!  If they see that you are getting all riled up, they’ll do it more.  The opposite is true.  Don’t go into a chat room causing trouble, why bother?  You’re a fan and I’m sure that Backstreet or N Sync appreciate your loyalty, but why go into and insult the fans.  Like I said before, there is no shame in liking a group, so please respect their tastes.     Slash fiction a.k.a. adult fan fiction… Whatever floats your boat… I admit, I look through them, I am over 18 (that’s all I’m saying ;)) and I have the right to do so.  I say they have the most guts out of all in the fanfic world, because at least they are honest with their thoughts, put them down on paper and publish them.  Kudos!  If you don’t like it, don’t read it; besides, it’s not like you have those thoughts when you go to bed at night! That’s all I have for now… If something else comes to my mind, you better believe I’ll write about it… hate, love, it’s all good so let me know your reaction.
