J N: Tombstone states that he was b. 1812 and died 1883. J N and Susannah marriage: LDS site shows that this couple was married in Brown Co, OH. A birth record for an unnamed baby girl was found in 1856 in Wetzel Co, WV to JN and Susannah. Civil war records place James Thomas Hays enlisting in Co. B, 1st Spec. Battalion (Wheat's) LA. Inf. Enlisted 25th/Apr/1861 in New Orleans. Rolls from June to Dec. 1861. Present. Family records show James Thomas Hays marries Bettie Elizabeth Kindred in Wilson Co, TN 6th/Aug/1863.
Abt. 1864 JT and Bettie have Cora L. TN Abt. 1865 JT and Bettie have Sallie TN 1867 James T and Bettie have Nute (Nate?) MS. JT's sister Mary M Hays marries Adam Shriver in Wilkinson, MS 24th/Feb/1867 (LDS records). Speculation: JT and Bettie were in MS for the wedding, Nute was born and then they went back to Wilson Co, TN. 1870 Speculation: I think that JT and Bettie had child Jas Y Hays Feb. They moved to Limestone Co, TX right after birth of Jas. According to Mortality Schedule of Limestone Co, TX 1870, Jas Y Hays, b. TN, 1 mo, W, M, S, died March, of fever. Ceremony performed by Pastor W B Patterson, Methodist Episcopal Church South. 1920 James T dies in Garland, Dallas Co, TX.
