History

Team Pitta has competed in car audio competitions for over 6 years.  We started competing the Accord in IASCA, although we determined IASCA was too opinionated for our taste.  When you spend $XX,XXX amount on a car stereo, you just don't feel like hearing some judge say your stereo "just does not image correctly."  When Db Dragracing competitions became available, we began to get into the bass aspect of car audio.  We found Db Dragracing to be attractive because the competition is judged only on Sound Pressure Level (SPL).  We successfully redesigned the Accord to achieve high SPL.  We jumped to hold the record of achieving the highest SPL in the state of Maryland in car audio.  We have held this record for over two years.

IdBL

After many car audio enthusiasts grew interest in competing for the highest SPL, IASCA attempted to capture this market as well.  Surely, Team Pitta does not hold grudges, so we competed in a few IdBL events.  The results (from every IdBL show we attended) were pointless, unorganized and a waste of time.  We just do not feel like going to an event 9:00am and staying until 8:00pm.  The reason why IdBL's shows take so long is because IdBL runs an IASCA show simultaneously with the IdBL event.  We play the stereo (once) in the morning, then we just sit around for the rest of the day.  We are real people with real lives, we just don't have that type of time!  The main problem with IdBL is the measuring equipment used to determine the SPL.  I will tell a story about one of the IdBL events that we attended in the summer of 1999.

As the hot, boring day dragged through, Team Pitta finally was able to compete in the IdBL show.  As Team Pitta pulled up to the line, the IdBL/IASCA judge broke out the IdBL rule-book.  The judge made Team Pitta install seats into the bass mobile.  Finally, after being scorch by IdBL's officials, Team Pitta was able to compete in the event.  As always, Team Pitta played their 1.5 second tone burst.  The meter said "---",  Team Pitta said "What!"; Then the judge, while waving his cane at Team Pitta, replied "I just have to adjust the meter to register above 140(dB). Give it another shot."   When Team Pitta explained that they needed time to allow the batteries to recharge, the judge responded to Team Pitta with something like "You don't know what your talking about!!  There is no way that you could have discharged your batteries in that short amount of time!"

Let's just say that we have had it with IASCA/IdBL once again.

Phoenix Gold

As you know, Phoenix Gold offers the best car audio equipment.  We have also found that no amplifier surpasses the performance of a Phoenix Gold amplifier. Since we have always used Phoenix Gold equipment, the decision was obvious to use all Phoenix Gold equipment when we built the bass monster.  Phoenix Gold has always offered us high quality products, quick turnaround for repairs, and excellent technical support.  They have always surpassed our expectations in every matter.
