The multi-mode jam-resistant radar system, with phased antenna array, has an enhanced detection capacity, and makes it possible to detect small ground targets, with simultaneous tracking of several aerial targets. The radar system even decides problems of terrain avoidance and low-level flight close to ground obstacles. The Su-32 is equipped with a two-channel heat-guided and television-guided optic system, combined with a laser range finder-target indicator. The two channels can be used independently or jointly. There is nothing like the Su-32 as regards the range of weapons available for use against aerial, ground and sea-based targets. They can be distributed around 12 weapon hard points. The best air-to-air missiles in the world (R-27 (NATO: AA-11 Archer), RVV-AE and R-73), allow the Su-32 to strike the enemy at a distance of up to 85 kilometres, before any counter-measures can be taken. To suppress air defences, up to eight supersonic Kh-31P (NATO: AS-17 Krypton), radar homing missiles are used, capable of efficiently striking all existing types of radar for air defence systems, including the Patriot, at a distance of up to 110 kilometres. |
